Nice work. 2 notes:
- lynx tail blades. Personally find them soft and noizy.. like the stock 300X better, if looking for other colors than gaui's black... Well just say you could mention them too..

- mail gear: when running insane HS or insane torque, I could melt the main gear's plastic around the one way, in flight. Now I use the 250 stock gear, since it has aluminum core and the One way stays in place much better. Only need to shave a few milimeters from the height of the alu part, the rest is drop in.

Need some of these?

Not stocked or available through Empire or AlleRC. I've only been able to find them at Fast Lad in the UK.

Well hell. They didn't used to be and I stand corrected. A while back, I had JC at Empire check and they weren't stocked and not available but see they certainly now are. Before they were, I bought 2 sets of crazy expensive grips that could have been saved with replacement balls.

Sorry.

No problem. I think I posted the link one other time. Figured it would be good for folks to know so they don't have to buy grips like you did.

Who knows, maybe it was your prompting that finally got sites to carry the parts.

Just want to add something i did wrong

With the beastx and sat there are 2 binding selections

One is with a dsm2 sat, just plug in bind plug and bind normal

2nd is with dsmx sat, hold button and then plug in and bind

I messed up and was bound to dsm2 on dsmx sat, it was causing throttle signal issues

Here is info on using the trex 250 main gear on the x2.

The trex 250 shaft is larger in od, but it steps down to the same size as the x2 shaft so it does fit the x2.

It is taller than the x2 maingear so some adjusting of your maingear belt pulley is needed. I shaved my hsc pulley down on the bottom to lower it and it rides the pulley perfect now. Also if you have a hsc pulley with a lower and upper flange it might be fine as is.

Here is mine, i also added a thicker bearing in the middle mainshaft block. 3x6x2.5mm

Modders beware

So i messed up , well align did a shotty job of mounting the owb in the trex hub. It was not flush at the bottom. It rubbed against my lower mount a little. I caught it before it did any real damage.

If the owb is not flush use heat and remove it and remount it properly. It should be just above flush so it will contact the lower bearing.

Mine turned down with my micro lathe

Lightbulb Now you can get GOVERNOR on your stock Gaui ESC!!!

As it turned out the Gaui 22 ESC is the same ESC as the Plush, so you can use 18A or 25A code for it. See more info on BLHeli, flashing etc here:

I bought a used x2 that has the DFC mod. Need to replace the ball link on the DFC-arm but when i orderd the align 250 ones they are shorter than the ones on the heli.
These are the ones I bought:
http://www.aligntrexstore.com/250-DF...XX_p_2767.html

Which ones are you using?

Will these ones work perhaps, they are for the 450: http://www.helipal.com/product_info....oducts_id=1774 ?

The stock X2 ball links are longer than the trex. I don't think you can buy just the ball links but you can get them in the rotor head pack 212110 for $5.95 (a "must have" spare anyway), or the servo linkage rod set 207004 for $2.95.

Thank you, I'll try those instead!

Default Tail case bearing mod

My rear bearings would work at first but eventually, especially the small one, they always would start to get loose and then vibrate, and then eat away at the aluminum tail case. So this is the simple solution I came up with and it has fixed everything so far.

First step was to drill out the small bearing hole in the tail case to 7mm, so you can use the same big bearing on both sides. Next I made the two tiny aluminum top & bottom plates (I recently bought a used micro mill). The top rear of the case is a curved surface so I machined a flat on it, and also a few mm of clearance for the bolt. Finally I just cut the two slots rearward from the bearing holes. This makes belt replacement easier, bearings haven't moved at all in 50 flights or so, and still no play developing in the small bearing - because it's not there! I think you could do all this with a Dremel too but you will need a drill press!

I use blue loctite on the tail bearings to hold them in. Clean the bearing and housing, then run a thin layer around the housing holes. It doesn't take much. If you do it right, it won't come free and you'll have to tap the tail shaft out of the hole when it's time to strip the tail down. I've literally flown several hundreds logged flights between tail maintenance and the bearings don't spin loose with the method.

Hi everyone, I'm a noob to Gaui X2. My kit is on the way. Forgive me for asking this question: why is it better to use HSC belt pulley vs stock? Is the stock so weak?
