Where do we go to buy Kontronik motors? Their US distribution channels seem to have dried up. Other than a few scattered Pyro 7XXs which have the aroma of unsold inventory, I'm having trouble finding anything.

Just looking at helidirect website -> 11 different models from 380, 600, 650, 750, 800 and 850 available.

Also seeing it at experiencerc website. Most motor models are online available.

Yep, but none the one I need. Either wrong size or wrong shaft length.

"Most" is overstating it pretty dramatically. Some are available. Again, not the one I need.

Honestly I'm not in the market anyway. I was considering replacing one I have because it got wet, but I'm just going to have the bearings and shaft replaced and see how it does instead. Not being able to buy the one I need made that decision a lot easier, but it also left me curious whether Kontronik is actively trying to sell motors right now, at least in the U.S.

Good point but often a decision of the online store and not the supplier. If they stock to much it keeps sitting there.
You can contact them and they will get the specific motor of your choice.
Alternative - order directly from Germany and benefit from the good exchange rate (listed Euro price minus sales tax).

Does anyone know if Tim is still the contact at Kontronik USA? I sent him an email and got no response. Puppy managed to only chew on a set of charge leads and the + esc lead on my LV jive. There were 8 6s packs inches away... Good boy! Lucky.

Default New contact information

All US Kontronik customers: For service needs after 3/1/2020, please email me at repair.usa@kontronik.com.

I will be able to handle most motor services and VERY selected esc problems, as well as warranty service or replacement. We will use an RMA form which will be posted on the Kontronik website.

Please DO NOT PM me here about service needs, because I might miss your message. Use the email address; I check it several times daily.

Thank you,

Ben Minor

Will you be able to fix "bricked" units from a firmware update interruption?

If one does have a bricked ESC, can we send it to you or do we have to send them to Germany ourselves?

Sorry for the delay in reply.

Just send it to Germany yourself. It will cost more to pay to send it to me on top of the overseas shipping cost.

Default Top Notch US Kontronik Repair

I managed to do multiple atrocities to my Pyro 650-103L while trying to remove a stuck pinion. Sent it to Dr. Ben and he put it all back in order at a reasonable price. Easy to contact, quick analysis and estimate, quick turnaround. Next time I'm just going to send it to him to get the damn pinion off! Really nice having US based service.
