Default Old Logo 600SE mainshaft compatibility help~

Hi everyone
I have a old 1st generation 600 SE (2009-2012 I guess) and was planning to bring it back to air again soon.
Its in good condition and I am planning to get some spares in case of possible crashes.
I've noticed that there are a lot of modifications and some original parts seemed to be discontinued, like to main shaft [04705] and the one -way bearing [04067]. My question is can I just replace it with the main shaft 04772 and one-way bearing 04876 without changing the entire head/drive system?
Please help. Thanks a lot.

This is from a old post.

Quote:

So what works with what?

Head # 4631 is the one to use when you're using a "non-SX" set-up, which means the swash driver is separate and below the head block...thus the main shaft must be longer..which is the old version main shaft # 4075 (205mm). This set-up cannot be used with the new "SX" CB and main shaft third bearing support deal.

Head # 4619 is used when you're going the "SX" way, meaning the swash driver arms are attached to the head, thus the main shaft is shorter (part # 4620 which is 199mm long vs. the older 205mm "non-SX" set-up).

Also note, that when using the "SX" shorter main shaft, you must then use the CB and third bearing set-up, as the hole in the lower section of the "SX" shaft where the tail rotor front drive pulley pin is located, is drilled at a different location...which is all part of the design for the use of the CB and third bearing.

Summary:
"Original set-up" - Head # 4631, shaft # 4075 (205mm), no CB/third bearing, separate swash driver below the head.

"SX set-up" - Head # 4619, shaft # 4620 (199mm), must use CB/third bearing, swash driver arms mounted directly on the head.

Hope this helps,

(-: Dave Dahl

Not too sure why the 04075 main shaft is on back order. Maybe check with Mikado.

As far as I know. If you use the new main shaft on the old Logo 600SE you need to upgrade to the third counter bearing under the main shaft. This leaves less room for batteries unless you change to the new V2 frame.

Thanks so much for the quick reply!
The rotor head is the oldest 2-piece version.... haha
Guess maybe another option is to consume all the remaining spares via hard practicing and prepare to get a new LOGO.....

Cheers

I have the same Logo 600SE. I have some extra parts, main shaft, gears etc. Exactly what I have been thinking lately. I will fly it until I can't any more and then buy the new Logo 600. Actually I may buy the new 600 and build it first anyway.

I upgraded my Logo 500SE to the new main shaft and one pice head block. I just put a extra collar on the bottom of the gear instead of the third bearing. But don't have to room under the main gear to allow enough clearance for the batteries to do that on the 600SE since it is 12s. I would have to change to the V2 frame and change to the new style would be the only way.

I'm in the same predicament (Old 600 se which I love) and I can't get the 4075 main shaft!!!
Did you ever figure out how to get things going with out that part?

So more experienced 600SE guys correct me if I am mistaken...

We can use the 4772 shaft without changing anything else from original. Although 4772 is made for a counterbearing, but it's not necessary to use it. Could operate with the excess shaft length protruding from the OWB assembly. Additionally, could also simply cut it shorter.

Cutting is fine if you have the right tools to make a new snap ring groove.

I ran 600se with ~6mm of spacers on it below the main gear as well. I found some old 10mm I.D. bearing that was 5mm thick for part of the spacer. Only disadvantage is the battery clearance. Also did this on a 550sx for a while (bought used and the main shaft counter bearing was shot).

Just curious, does the counterbearing set you ordered not work? Or didn't come?

If you cut the shaft like you said you would have to machine a new snap ring groove in it. It’s about the only way you could use the longer shaft and still have enough clearance for the batteries. This is with the old V1 frame.

I guess if you have a new V2 frame you may have enough clearance to use this shaft with a bolt on type collar some spacers and a snap ring.

Guys, this is my logo 600. If I need to replace a main shaft, which one do I need to buy? Is everything else the same? Spindles, tail shaft, etc?
