New batteries - flied 15 minutes
Yea, I hovered for 15 minutes on this one battery (regular mode, not idle up). Isnt that cool? Its a Mystery brand 2200mah 15C battery but maybe thats cause its new.
Or maybe I should just stop at 10 minutes for the battery's good, although the speed controller cuts it off auto at 3.0 volts, which is the critical minimum voltage. What times do you guys get with your batteries, or how long do you use them for? |

Going down to 3v/cell is way too low for a LiPo. You will only damage it. You really need to cut off at around 10.5 to 11V. There are battery monitors which do this, and most ESCs can be set up to cut off at different voltages as desired. For a 2200mAH batt, you should get around 8 to 10 mins depending on the head speed and type of flying you are doing. Obviously the more load you are putting on your rotor-head, the greater the current draw, and hence the shorter time the battery can supply the voltage.

+1 8-10 minutes max! You NEVER want your lipo to go below 3.75 volts per cell or 11.25 volts for the entire pack. That is bad for your lipos and could cause fire! Hovering only with a 2200 mah I have it on the ground at 8mins and 30 secs.(that is 80% capacity) I run a much higher headspeed than you. I would say for you be on the ground at 9mins and check your lipo's voltage and incerase or decrease the time from there.

Ouch 15 minutes.
Hope your batt still works up to scratch after that. -Jonny

Thanks guys. I hope I didnt damage my battery. I'm gonna limit the flying to 9-10 minutes now. I have a multimeter so I'll use it to make sure it doesnt go that low again.
I couldnt find any information on how to configure the stock ESC for a higher cut-off voltage. |

Your battery is probably fine
The 80% rule is just the saftey limit. A lot of people have gone way over that but their batteries have been fine. As long it doesn't go over the 80% mark again it should be fine Happy flying -Jonny

I stop flying after 6 min then look it over and do any adjustments I think I need. Put on charger, wait 4 hours and do again..

I am waiting for a 6s charger so I can charge my trex 500 battery lol!
I bought a tp 1010C and not realising I had to buy a balancer with it which costed another £50 I sent it back in exchange for a Bantam bc6-10. But now fast-lad has my charger and £120 and he has not replied to my email lol. But I am sure he is busy. He always replies normally. Meanwhile, the tp 610c has come back in stock which is cheaper. So until I get an email from him I don't know what's happening. I just want a charger that can charge my batteries!! I don't care which one anymore lol. -Jonny

I'm still using the Pee-sky turtle charger that charges a battery in longer time than it takes for the Olympic torch to go around the world. 6 hours I guess. But I got 3 chargers so I do them at the same time. Its alright for now. When I get some more money I'll buy a better charger that does them in 30 minutes. I plan to get rid of the stock ESC too when I can afford it.

The hard part is deciding on what to do first. ECS, Gyro, charger, batteries and anything else I think I need...lol But the only thing working with me is the weather. Hope I will have it all by spring..

You've gotta hurry up and get that charger. That "wait 4 hours" made me remember those long waits

Trust me it's on the list at the top.. Along with 2 more batteries.
It didn't bother me before when I couldn't hover but now that I kinda can I just don't want to stop..lol |

That not wanting to stop and the wait is the main cause of my 2 puffed lipos. I wanted to get every second they would allow but that's just a bad idea! I would have 6 lipos if I hadn't but I only have 3 now. The other lipo I taco'ed in my last crash and is no longer usable. A better charger is a must!
