Default Replacing 20C LiPo with 25C LiPo

Hi,

I have this quadcopter (http://www.amazon.com/UDI-U818A-2-4G.../dp/B00D3IN11Q). It came with a 3.7V 500mAh 20C LiPo battery. It gives a flight time of 8 minutes.

Can I change the battery to 3.7V 1000mAh 25C LiPo battery for longer flight time?

Will that affect the quadcopter?

Don't think so.....I have a much larger Hex and I was using a 4s2p 25c 6600mah battery. I only got about 6.25min with added landing grear, gimbal & camera.
I'm now using a 4s 20c 5000mah and getting close to 8 min.
So sometimes going bigger can add weight which will shorten flight time.
As far as th C rating. If the original battery getting worm, then a higher C rating might help. FYI: the higher the C rating the heavier the battery gets.
Also remember that over discharging g a battery beyond 80% of capacity can cause all sorts of problems. Always know how much you put back into your batteries if charger gives you that info. If not find a battery checker that will show you percentages.

Default bingo on the 80% rule

You can too slightly bigger , but twice as much is pushing it to the max. So keep your discharge rate to 80% or under . I usually discharge my packs till 3.75 volts per cell and go from there. Just don't pull more than 80% of the packs capacity out of it . Your packs will serve you well if you treat then nicely. If you have a 500mAh try a 850 and increase the c rate a little. You might find better flight times, good power and cooler packs. Changing props can help as well if they have other options listed for your drone.
