The basic setup goes as follows...

Rx>>>>>>CPII>>>>>FBL>>>>>Servos.

Most non-stabilized FBL controller will wire up this way

@Nightflyr, Just some clarification, i'm also planning to install my cpII with the ZYX fbl, bt as i read the ZYX manual, it requires the transmitter to setup in non-mixing mode, will the output from cp2 suits the ZYX well?

Not a problem S1 or H1 setup for FBL is SOP.
The FBL controller does the mixing.

sorry about resurrecting old thread but I finally have time to get at this again, and still need help.So I have my on/off for my cp11 on my gain channel(dx6i),but black wire from zyx is suppose to plug in there, Is there a way to make this work or do I have to forget about having on/off?

Since you need all the channels from your DX6i to control the heli, without a 7th channel to switch it, your installation is not optimal. This having been said, there is a way to set it up such that it will work, even if it isn't optimal.

Instead of sending your tail gain from the Tx you send it from the CPII itself. There is a section of the CPII manual dedicated to how this is performed. The section title is called "If helicopter channels are limited". Using this method you set your gain value during the CPII set-up which is then output directly to your FBL controller on the 4th channel, SV04.

The channel that would normally have sent gain to your FBL controller, via the Rx, is now freed up to enable switching of the CPII unit.

Of course if you do output the gain from the CPII, the only way to adjust it is during CPII set-up, so you cannot have it linked to flight modes, or adjust it from the Tx in any way. That having been said I don't think you can link gain to flight modes with the DX6i anyway, and very often, once you get your gain set right, it will stay that way for good. I haven't changed my gain on any of my helis all year, so in reality, whilst I described it as not optimal, it would be no real drawback to me.

Cheers

Sutty

Hi Guys,

You can adjust the gyro gain in the preferences menu if you choose to use SV04 on CPII to control the gyro gain. It is not necessary to go through Quick Setup again.
