Default Motor for Innova 600

Hi again

Well, KDS-BL5052-500 is the motor KDS have for it, but I'm after a replacement.

Have anyone a suggestion? I'm thinking of Align RCM-BL600MX 510Kv motor.

The only thing, the KDS motor has a very long shaft. Unsecure if the Align one is long enough. Otherwise RCM-BL600MX seems to be a good choice?

Default Motor...

Hey bro your best bet is to take the motor that they put in the heli and put it next to the 600mx...Spec. Wise and compare them

A-lot of guys love the KDE Motors.... and the Xnova's Check in to those too
mate

God Bless

I used a Gartt HF700L in my 700 but that would be very large for a 600 motor. It's possible to use 4mm bolts and 30mm mounting holes with the Innova motor mount but the motor must be turned at an angle and one of the bolts ends up obstructed by the maingear so you have to put the motor in with that bolt left loose adjust the mesh and tighten the other bolt, then remove the whole motor mount and motor from the frame and tighten the obstructed bolt then put the mount and motor back in the frame. Overall a real pain in the arse.

Here is how I did my motor and ESC.

The two farthest motor wires needed to be extended about 1 inch to reach without straining the wires so what I did was solder two 5mm bullets back to back for each extender and then soldered the JST plug for the RPM sensor to these.

The best way to make these is to cut a piece of 8 gauge solid core copper wire that will fit into the space between the two bullet connectors then clamp them carefully back to back into a table vice to keep them lined up (don't crush them). Then heat them with a torch and feed solder into the feed hole. Once it's filled put the tinned wire into the feed hole and add a bit more solder and let it cool.

Looks good! My scorpion have 25mm mount and overall is just like the KDS motor. Just need extend wires. Ended up with castle talon 120hv for it. Should be good enough for my simple flying.

I'd also recommend sticking with the moulded straight gear. My 700 came with a CNC helical gear and it wobbles up and down slightly as it spins where the straight gear doesn't. It's actually one of the best injection moulded gears I've seen. Given that the helical gears are very hard to find and cost $20 each vs $7 for a pair of the straight gears it's just not worth it imo.

Also the Mikado herringbone gears for the Logo 600 will fit the KDS Innova hub. They're also less expensive than the KDS helical gear (though the herringbine pinions are around $20 each) Keep in mind that unlike helical gears a herringbone gear has a "handedness" so be sure any pinion you get will be oriented correctly (Mikado pinions will work because the motor is oriented the same way)

Curious what batteries you're running with the 4035 and your flight times?
How does the stock motor compare to the 4035?

Thanks
Jason
