Default 1st ever issue with any BeastX

So ive used all variations of the BeastX and are very well vised with them. Ive been utilizing the AR7210BX with rescue on a couple Helis now. Rescue is setup as Bailout with collective at 30% of max. Has worked amazing inside and out until recently.....
Extremely stable and functions great flight wise. Now all of a sudden twice now....when rescue is enabled heli levels horizontally as it should but instead giving positive collective and climbing in altitude it gives negative and hits the ground. Luckily very minimal damage to heli. Ive done full factory reset and updated to latest firmware with negative results. Can 100% say heli is smooth running as far as vibes, normal setup is correct as it does fly great, the rescue is the sudden issue as it has worked flawlessly in the past. Ive contacted HH and started the process to send it in to be checked out but if theres something else i can try before sending id like to try. TIA

I am not sure which menu point but there is a place where you have to tell it which pitch is positive and which is negative... maybe you inadvertedly changed that?

wouldnt be the step in which you tell it which is neg or positive because it wouldnt fly right. That step is in the main setup....so unfortunately not it. Spoke with Horizon Today and they confirmed something is absolutely wrong and had me send it in for diagnostic

Ok, let'see what HH finds out.

Anyway, the knowledge of "which is pos and which is neg" is only used by Rescue. That step was not even existing before they implemented Rescue. So it would "fly right" even if that step was not done properly.

+1. The same happened to me. I adjusted my max collective pitch in setup menu point K, accidentally hit the rudder stick and reversed the internal pitch direction. When the stick is set to negative pitch the status LED lights in red. See here:

http://wiki.beastx.com/index.php/Man...Setupmenu_K/en

This does NOT imply any changes in flying behavior (e.g. wrong pitch direction) unless you activate attitude control with pitch control! My heli went straight down with luckily only minor damages.

A wrong setting is fully reproducible on the bench: validate status LED in setup K and look at the swash plate direction when attitude control with pitch is activated.

You did not read the #10 post, 4.2 has vibration analysis. HH is what you call a
Enter attitude control L and press and hold, spoolup and look at LEDS first A-N indicates vibration levels, max being F you want to see. It develops a artificial horizon and vibes interfere. HH should have told you to check that,, if they even know it does it. Has not been documented yet.

Hello Bladerunner81,

How did it go along with your problem?

Unfortunately, the same happened to me today on my AR7210BX with software 4.20. After about 3 minutes flight time (mostly inverted), I flipped the heli back to normal but somehow lost orientation in the grey sky. I pulled rescue (set up with pitch control) and the heli went straight down like the internal horizon would be inverted.

Back on the bench, I cross checked internal pitch direction in setup K and overall attitude control behavior/swash plate movements but here everything was fine. I am wondering if the 4.20 update made sensors more susceptible for horizon switching? I tested the rescue feature earlier (right after the 4.20 update) and it was working fine. However, I only tested shortly after take-off, not toward the end of the flight. Also, this never happened to me with version 4.15.

I will do the vibe test of Stefan's post #10 in the other thread but I'm afraid I need a couple of new parts first...
