Some assembly pics
Cut down GMMauro mount
Cone spacers also shorter on swash links: Braided servos fed in via the crack above the U-channel - didn't bother shortening them as they are all hidden away in the fuze - Elevator servo mounted further into the frame using Delrin spacers rather than previous alloy cylindrical spacers: All plugs hot glued into HC and Rx - Rx tucked under gyro mount and has SBUS - SBUS2 and throttle inputs Drive belt rolled up tidily so as not to get crimped: USe plastic tubing to route throttle cable from Rx to ESC just above lipo tray Termination of leads in the motor bay throttle master - slave doubling as HC programming lead - SBUS2 lead for JLog 2.5 Empty motor compartment - not enough room to fit a mosquito in between frame and fuze !! Used MC Kosmik mount with CF tray screwed onto Mauro motor mount Decided to route ESC wires down the side and plug into rather short 4535 wires

Awesome.
All these "S" threads are killing me.

Took the new bird along for an endoscopy to check out where the canopy was sticking and see how things looked on the inside ....

O-ring holder at the front, rims of lateral cyclic servo arms, even the cable tie on the ESC cables - having spent an hour sorting these it fits much better !

I bet! Most people probably don't have access to that kind of equipment either.. But it sure makes troubleshooting a lot easier. Looks good. It's hard to tell, but from what you could see, does it look like the ESC will fit in there on its side? I want to mount mine that way with the NACA ducts funneling air right at it.

Also, is that the standard kosmik mount? I saw on the original S they had to cut the forward mount feet off the ESC to make it fit.

Diabolo - S - vids and pics
Standard mount will fit Kosmik fine without the need to cut of the front tabs.

So This weekend, I had the opportunity to see Diabolo S No 45 in the flesh! I can say this, it is one magnificent looking machine and looks so much better in real life. I got approval from the owner to post up these pictures. He is probably one of the most respected guys in the UAE, not only in RC but also in aviation. He's workshop is a dream to have and such a honor to actually see.
After seeing this baby I paid Gerd within 60min and confirmed the blue scheme as well. Enjoy

Got a few FFF passes in on her maiden before the power gave out - was looking good till then! We managed to auto her down with just a few broken links and stripped cyclic servo gears. Cause of the power out was the oblique gears pulling the shaft out of the motor can - that's first for me ! Anyway a short video here

Very nice flights, love the noise of these machines. Aren't there grub (set) screws in the rotor of the scorpion motors. You may need to use green (gear) loctite on the end of the shaft also.

Damn! Sorry to hear that, John. Hope it wasn't too bad and the fuse is ok.
William, that blue looks great in those pictures! That would have been my choice, had I not gotten something custom.
