Info and Advice on battery purchase
Hi
Saw a previous thread on some battery picks but didn't answer my questions. Traded in a 2 day old bad Blade heli and instead of replacement decided to put the money towards a 230S. (hope that was a good move) I don't really want to spend $30 ea on extra Blade batteries as there has to be a better choice both on price and performance. The previous thread mentioned the Turnigy 1000 ma but they are 20c? The oem Blade is 30c. What's the most recent word ?? Last edited by Trwirth; 02-05-2017 at 09:28 AM.. Reason: spelling error |

I started a thread a couple weeks ago regarding a good quality lipo for this 230s heli, I finally made the decision to purchase a half dozen of the turnigy nano techs and I'm very glad I did. in my opinion they have a lot more punch & power and are alot better quality that the eflite800mah.
I ordered the 950mah 25-50c packs and they have been performing excellent. Right now hobby king has a (up to 30% off sale) on the nano's and are currently only $8.04 ea.for usa orders and that's a great deal in my opinion. They are very close the same weight and size dimensions as the eflite as well. I just ordered 6 more to have set back. |

I use the 1000mah turnigy and they work fine. I'm not flying smack 3d to the C rating is fine on them. You can get higher C ratings in 1000 if I remember correctly. The nanotech 950 are nice, was going to get them but HK was always out of stock on them in their US warehouses. I also used Zippy 850 compacts, they worked well but not impressed with their lifespan.

or https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...lipo-pack.html I run both 1000 and 1300s of these batteries. They will help balance out your heli and help to keep the motor from bogging down with their high C rating. You may need to get an adapter or solder new connectors. (I solder mine to deans T plugs) |

Pulse makes some good inexpensive batteries, but you have to solder the connectors on them.

These are what I have been using along with the stock battery's. They have been very good and am happy with them. I also have the stock Eflite and they have been very good.I like to keep things light.

Seriously? I beat the piss out of my 230S on Nano-Tech 850mAh batteries and get 5.5 mins easily with a resting voltage of 3.76+V/cell at the end of a flight.
I tried the Turnigy 1000mAh batteries. It dumbed the 230S down even more and the extra weight just means more power burned to carry it. I really didn't get any longer flight times (less than 30 sec extra) and it made the 230s feel HEAVY. Not worth it. |

I'm still experimenting with batteries as well. I have the stock eflite 800 then a glacier 800 and 1000mah. so far I like the glacier. after almost 5min of flight they are pretty much cool to the touch compared to the eflite. and this is just normal flight no 3d
