Whiplash G2 production build...

Hey everyone!

I received an email with tracking number for my Whiplash G2 heli. I should have it Friday sometime after work. I will do a detailed build with pictures and flight results, and hopefully some video.

I agree on the great news! I can't wait to see what flying the Whiplash G-II is all about. Also, looking forward to seeing RCNUT's pictures and videos. They may help me maintain quality control and less potholes during my build process!

I just received word from the owners of MA, that the Whiplash G2 kits are shipping!

This is the email I received this morning:

Good evening Ray,

The kit you will get is an official production release.
There will be a small modification at the torque tube end at the front tail drive.
You can tell people that shipping has started.
Josef will prepare the final illustrations for the manual this weekend. I will send them to you as soon as possible.
So if you have any questions please let us know.

As to where the kits are being shipped to...I don't know. I would believe a batch is being sent to the pre-orders first, and then the distributors.

As for my kit, it is coming straight from Germany and I will have it tomorrow!

Today is the day I receive my new heli!

Also, I received an email from Scott, the owner of Cajun Aircraft, https://www.cajunaircraft.com/, stating he has a shipment of Whiplash G2 helis on the way. A few are for pre-orders, and the rest are in stock. This is the USA distributor for MA.

I picked up my Whiplash last night on the way home from work! I had time to open the box and have a peak...WOW! It is well packed and I can't wait to get started on it!

So, rcnut, is the Whiplash finished yet? I know it is probably a bit early to ask, but I thought there might be a few teasing pictures by now. I am sure that you have been trying to prioritizing your time this weekend to build as much as possible.

Last night I checked for e-mail, like I have been doing 100 times a day over the past week in anticipation. I received an e-mail from Judith at M.A. letting me know that my Whiplash would ship this coming week!

I am very excited and looking forward to beginning my new building project. I can also start purchasing those extra little items, like an engine, servos, and thinking seriously about a "Jewel" to top it off.

Ok guys...I haven't been here for a few days, I've been glued to my workbench building my new Whiplash gasser! All I can say is WOW! This kit is awesome!

I have a lot of pictures to upload and comments to write, so hang tight, they are coming, hopefully before the end of this week.

I have the heli built and I'm working on the electronics now. I hope to finish this for this weekend maiden flight.

Excellent... I got a flight on the prototype a few months ago, cant wait to upgrade my V1 later this year...


In the mean time I did get some cool hats and swag from the team manager (thanks my friend )

Here is the first production Whiplash G2 gas heli. This is their box design. Inside you will see it is well packed and it doesn't look like much is in there! LoL! After removing all the bubble pack from the surface and from most of the packaged items, a kit starts to appear.

You can see some of the bags have what appears to be pre-assembled sections. The canopy is from Canomod, and it looks great, no flaws. and it is very lite.

Ok, so now that I've drooled over the bags...lets get started! As I had mentioned earlier, this build will go fast!

Good news! My G2 shipped from Germany on Thursday. FedEx shows delivery for Tuesday 5-9. Putting a new BD Axon in her as they are now fully integrated with my Jeti. I was going to hold out for the Vortex V2 but still no word on a release date. This will be my first BD and from what I hear I am going to like it. All goes well the maiden will be next Saturday 5-13. Well its time to go meet Ray for breakfast and then off to the field to maiden his new Whip V2. The weather is 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. I will be putting the first flight of the year on my Whip V1 with all the latest bearing and gear updates. Guess you could call it the Whip V1.5.
