Default How do you fuel your gasser

I'm curious how folks fuel their gassers. Do you use a T in the fuel line from the tank to the carb and fuel from the T capping it after fueling or is there some other method. Also do you run a fuel line from the tank vent or leave the vent with no line attached to it.

Hi, have a look in the "Gas Powered Thoughts" forum thru some of the build threads. It should give you an idea of what is commonly done.

You definitely need a hose connected to the vent. See some of the build threads for the coils etc.

Tees and inline filters, etc are just opportunities for leaks.

I pull the return line from the carb to fuel. Lots of guys do.

Default 1 way in 1 way out

Pull the return line to fuel it all day long.

At the end of the day pull the carb line, push the primer bulb until the carb is empty, and drain the tank from the inlet line to the carb.

No T's or extra fuel/defuel line.

So then the return line will require a hole be cut on the tank and a fuel line fitting installed, Raja I went back and looked at your v2 build photos but I could not see clearly where you cut the hole for the return line fitting, on the tank top would be my guess. Also what fuel line barb do you use, I know leaks are a possibility. Also would like to know how you route your vent line. Sorry for so many Q's but would like to get it right the first time.

The whiplash fuel tank comes from the factory with the proper fittings for a 3 line setup (carb, return, vent). The MA build manual shows a typical layout:

Ok, thanks I did not remember the molded vent tube. I'm at work and not where the tank is.

Default Here is mine

You can see here how I routed the lines. Make sure you use the top built in nipple as the RETURN line not the vent line. The vent line is the one that gets drilled into the tank and goes straight down.

Default Mines a bit different but OLD

Have absolutely Zero Issue's with Drip's - Run's - Leaks or Air Bubbles -none

Nor do I remove and replace any line to fill and unfill - or drain the system. It is hermetically sealed -

I can easily get a Full Fill - and a Complete Drain. without drip's leaks or run's

Can even do it with out a Fuel Pump using the Gravity method.

Bottom line is my fill and drain. Yes they did make Blue Tygon
