Talking Took the Nitro plunge! N7 is on the way!

I'm super excited to own my first Synergy.

Choosing the N7 as my first Nitro model was pretty much a no-brainer given that it seems everyone that owns one absolutely loves it!

As far as setup goes I went with:

OS 105 HZ-R / Power boost pipe
Rail 696/106
BK 7002 Cyclics and Throttle / BK Tail servo
3 Digi Flight Controller

Can't wait to start!

Thanks man

I ordered enough parts for the 105 to rebuild it completely in case I mess it up

Lets hope I won't need them for a while at least

Welcome to the family

The 105 will make decent power even running really rich. Just start conservatively and it will run cool. It'll spit oil all over but you won't burn it up.

Thank you, copy that!

My intention is to be very conservative with it. I get plenty of power with my electrics so I wasn't really after lots of power with this one. My decision to go with the 105 was really driven by my great experience with OS engines when I ran them in RC Cars. I just know them to be super reliable and easier to tune than other engines I have tried.

I went out to our LHS yesterday and got some Cool Power 15% yesterday. They had 20% and even 30%, but again I really don't want to push it and have to mess with shimming and such. I think the power will still be good since it was designed for 15%.

I've run everything from 15% up to 30% in my 105 and I ended up staying with 15%. My 105 seems to run the smoothest and coolest with 15%, while still making what (to me) seems like just the same power as with the higher nitro percentages.

It's here

Very impressed with the quality and finish of the kit on first inspection.

Still waiting on some parts to arrive though, including the engine. Maybe another week or so before everything arrives.

Sweet brother!! You will love that helicopter as do I love mine. Flies very smooth, almost faultless. Goes together very easily. Take your time with the build, trust me on this one, and get everything right the first time and it will be super reliable for you. Just fuel and fly. At 1950rpm it is a smooth bullet......

I recommend pinning the boom supports. There's holes molded in the ends you can drill through. Nitros like to break the ends loose if you don't pin them.

Thanks for the tip. I will certainly do that.

Well, I couldn't wait for the engine to arrive so I got started with the main frame. Managed to get it done and square. She's starting to look like a heli

Pretty smooth sailing so far. There is one thing I did not care for though. Phillips head screws?? I can't stand them. But otherwise it's a really nice kit. Tight tolerances and great machining.

Maiden my N7 today and it was awesome! I really enjoyed it and everything went quite smoothly. Managed to get a gallon through it. I think I can lean it out a little more for more power, but even rich as it is its making great power.

This pic is from the start of the day:

And this is a video of my last flight of the day:
