Default Any Videos?

I was just trying to peruse the contest flying videos and I guess that they are so old or not stored on the site anymore that you can't access them. I'm interested in learning the contest maneuvers from the beginning and would love to see some videos. I've been to youtube but some of the videos there are older.

Also, I've not looked yet but what websites out there, if any, do any of you think would be helpful for a person just starting out?

Thanks in advance for your input.

What type of competition are you interested in F3C (Precision) or F3N (3D)?

I'm interested in F3C and getting started in it. I visited the FIA website but it doesn't seem to be very user friendly.

Within the FAI helicopters page (http://www.fai.org/ciam-our-sport/f3...ol-helicopters) you will find the following link http://www.fai.org/downloads/ciam/SC...licopters_2016
This is the rules document that covers F3C and F3N.

Looking around on YouTube I found a channel with video from last years Worlds held in Austria. Search for "RC-Heli F3C" on YouTube.

If you are interested in the AMA helicopter competition here is a link to the document on AMA's website https://www.modelaircraft.org/files/...Helicopter.pdf

Thank you very much for the info. When I went to the website I didn't know where to start.

There are four different levels of levels of competition based on progressively more complex maneuvers.

The sportsman, advanced, and expert classes (also referred to as class I, II, and III) are governed by the AMA and the F3C level is governed by the FAI. Most folks start at the sportsman level. The maneuvers and rules for the sportsman class are covered in the AMA document linked in the post below.

Here's some videos from the 2009 nats with all the classes. Not the current schedules, and mostly nitro and flybar era, but it will give u some idea. Hasn't changed that much.
