I hope to make this a weekend motorcycle ride with my dad to see. I really want to be able to see a pro fly in person and not just on Youtube. It looks like a great experience for someone new to Helicopters.

Gonna try to have my Gaui X7 built by then!

My parents live an hour from there so I'll be down for at least a couple days.

It truly is, this event is always great. On youtube it's easy to forget that somebody's actually controlling them, almost looks automated. In person you can see all the little corrections the pilot's making and that the system is not perfect, and you might even back away a few feet ;]

Since we have power onsite an extension cord is recommended for your charger and peripherals.
Past that it is pretty standard gear for a event you would travel to.
Anything you are specifically curious about?

Not sure if I need a pop-up canopy, good places to eat, as I've never been to Virginia, you know, stuff like that.

I was told by a good friend of mine, the people in Virginia are very friendly!

Bring a popup, table and chair.
Standard franchise sit down and eat restaurants are 7 miles North.
Close by within 2 miles is fast food.
We have done big family style meals at Angela's Italian restaurant about 2 miles from the field.
We do sell burgers, hot dogs, sausage and fries onsite.
Being we run light towers at night, bringing clothes to keep warm and comfortable to continue flying will make the day even better.
