Default 500 class speed - cyclic servo torque requirements

Would appreciate your advice.

What is the minimum/ideal torque required for a 500cm blade class speed heli - I have CL5180 cyclics, but my power jive has a 6V max BEC.

At 6v those cyclics provide:
90 oz-in (6.5 kg-cm)

At 7.4v it's 110 on-in (7.9 kg-cm), but I'm trying to avoid an external BEC for weight.

Is it enough at 6v? Will the servos be okay?

Thanks!!

They should work at 6V for speed flying. Try them and if they are not enough you will experience porpoising flight, then you can just fit a 8.0V power supply.

There's not a lot of collective experience out there on this size yet, but I'm running my 3-bladed Goblin 500 speed machine on full-size coreless MKS HV1230/1250's and it works wonderfully. I'd guess anything at/above 100 in-ounces is probably sufficient.

thank you guys, really appreciate the help.

Justin, since the power jive supplies max 6v so I only get 90oz-in, do you suggest I bypass any BEC and just go with a 2s Rx lipo pack to achieve the higher V & torque?
Thanks

Here is some info on the specs For the KST BLS815 servos I ran this year at the IRCHA Speedcup in my GAUI X5 Formula. I am not saying you need to get KST servos but I just wanted to add some more information for this size class of heli and speed runs. I ran mine at 7.4v and they perfomed great.

Specifications:
Operating Voltage: DC6.0V-8.4V
Dimensions: 40.5*20*39.5mm
Torque:
14Kg.cm@6.0V
17Kg.cm@7.4V
20Kg.cm@8.4V
speed:
0.09sec/60@6.0V
0.08sec/60@7.4V
0.07sec/60@8.4V
weight:68g(with box:132g)
working frequency:
1520us/333Hz

thanks for the input - looks like you get as much torque as you could possibly need from a full size servo. I'm wondering if my mini size CL5180s are pushing it.
