My kit just got dilivered at my door. The box have a red circle sticker that says "lengthen shaft" so I'm guessing inside I will find the longer tail shaft, but I don't know if it will have the older shorter one. I ordered mine through the trex store. I'll have to see if my motor has a flat spot on the motor shaft. Too bad I don't get to build it until after Christmas since it's my girlfriends gift to me for xmas.

I was supersize I do not have a 6mm swash Leveler. One good thing this Leveler uses a sleve so it can be adapted for 470L, 450L, and can be sleved for all my smaller Heli.

As you know the two 3s w series harness the voltage will be kicked up to 6s but the amps will stay the same or limited to one of the 3s LiPo amp rating (V=IR stuff).

Align Trex 470Lp manual limits the 470L to 1,400mAh to 1,900mAh Why?

Because that's a reasonable size. There's no reason to run a battery 2100mAh or so. Also those old Align batteries are on sale/blowout because they are outdated and performance is not good compared to newer ones. Please note, those are only 20-25C--not enough for a helicopter this powerful.

Belt Setup
Tight enough that turning the head by hand and holding the tail it doesn't skip easily, not much tighter (still fairly loose). It's a trade-off; you can also do it quite tight, but you will notice the mechanics won't spin so freely.
Also
Tight enough not to skip in the air.
New belts stretch a little and on some heli the boom can slip, so do a check on boom and tension after a couple of flights.
Temperature does not effect the belt but an aluminum boom will contract and expand in the cold and hot weather.
470L Storage
You could reduce the belt tension but just like in your Ferrari or McLaren (I'm a Honda SUV guy) it is not necessary.

Not uncommon for storing over the winter. Sometimes it gets a hard lump where it was wrapped around the pulley on the tail shaft for a long period of time that can cause vibe issues. Totally unnecessary for short term storage of course.

Have heard of it anyway, never experienced it. I fly all winter and never had it happen on airframes that sat for months but some ppl have had it happen.

What is the diameter of the Align 470L CF rod?

470L use a spring loaded pully system to tension the tail dive belt.

To reduce all tail drive belt tension you screw in the 2 socket screws all the way.

Belt Setup
Bottom out (tighten) the 2 socket screws This compresses the tension spring,
Then back out the 2 socket screws 1.5-2 turns.

Maybe a new tail block with new hardware.
