Default What LiPo are you using?

Doing some research before I buy a 470 kit. They recommend 1800 mah, but they seem a bit scarce in the 6S variety. So far I've found Pulse (good, but pricey), Glacier (bad and avg), and GensAce (unfamiliar/never tried).

I really like the HK Graphene batteries, but the closest thing they have is a 1500 mah. Not sure of the run time difference vs the recommended 1800.

What is the range of battery size (in mah) that this bird can handle?

Interesting to see the feedback from those of you who are already flying the 470.

The manual for the LP kit shows 1450-1800 Mah in mine.

On my 470Lp and 470Lm
Turnigy Graphene 1500mAh 6S 65C $37.81

2 Turnigy 2200mAh 3S 20C $9.99 & Harness for 2 Packs in Series $2.40

I don't know why you rate Pulse batteries as "good" and Glacier as "bad". They are made by the same company in the same factory. I have used both and they are both good batteries (so is Gens Ace, also made by the same company).

Glacier are definitely not bad. They are a lower quality cell but by no means bad. Just not as good and tend to puff more/sooner than Pulse. Performance wise they are very close with Pulse seeming to pull ahead most of the time.

Was the turnigy batteries tight?
Is there room for her to swell?

Tight
No but I do use a double stick tape between the 3s

Swell or Puff install
Well I think once swelled I dump the LiPo. 3s are cheep 8$ 3s are not worth keeping once I see any puffing.
To answer your question .
Yes there is LiPo swell or LiPo puff room not much but two 3s LiPo easily slip in my 470LM and 470LP.

The only reason I use 3s LiPo is I have a few laying around. I am testing the Graphene and due to Graphene 3 or 4 minute charge time I may just stop using all my 3s LiPo.

They're snug but no rubbing. If my packs ever get puffy they go away before I worry about whether or not they fit.

Dont think You Know Exactly What your talking about?? Prestige wholesale own and operates pulse Lipo.. And Heli Direct

Glacier and gens ace are infact the same cell just rebranded packs. Glacier puts their label on pack that gens ace built...

Now for pack i recommend the pulse 1800 45c packs u can spend a few $ more for 65 but not needed.. FOr longer flight times and a heavier bird you can fly the pulse 2600 45c packs and for middle of the road the pulse 2200 45C

Now i do like the hobby king Graphene packs but not sure how it would fly with the 65c 2200s I like the 1800 65c on m,y trex 500(425) but tight getting the canopy on
Now Unless you can prove otherwise I wouldnt be making comments like above

I don't see a 50C only 30C. Is there a 50C for 1600mAH?

How is the flight time for those packs Andy? Do they get warm? Is 30c enough? I am planning to go with those packs, too.

2 ea Bonka 3s, 80c, 1300mAH in series for 6s. Total weight of the 2 is around 250 grams. Only been able to get a few flights in on my new 470LM, setup seems to work well. The set fit the battery tray perfect and center of gravity is spot on with the batteries about 1/2 inch from the back edge of the battery tray. Hope this helps.
