I got the LP.

I love lighter helis that float. To my surprise it came with a carbon tail rod and the extended tail shaft.

The build was stupid fast. It went together in 2.5 hours and for some of it i was holding my one year old while he was "helping".
Here are a few things I found:
  • Parts fit was really good. There was one hole in the carbon where my battery tray attaches that i had to hone out by a half mm to get the screw in, no biggie
  • The manual is very good. I didn't once read anything I just looked at pictures. One thing that seemed a bit backwards for installing the belt, they tell you to install it on the front first, then the tail box.
  • Everything is assembled at the factory, but not tightened down. This is what helped the speed of assembly. It almost felt like buying a used heli and just checking the guys before you work by redoing all the screws. Only this time not one screw was tight and no threadlock. For someone like me that hates building, this was a treat.
  • The biggest pain were the links. Actually this is a negative on the bird. The metal rods didn't really fit into the plastic. And they're misleading because they are both right handed threads. So they're not really turnbuckles. Odd.
  • I didn't yet put my electronics on, but I put the KST215s in and unlike some other posters, I didn't have any issue getting them into place. However, eyeballing it with my breakaway horns, the links from the servos to swash won't be parallel with the main shaft at 90 degrees. I feel like this is a well known issue with Align helis in general but not the biggest deal in flight.

I didn't see any mention that the stock kits came with turnbuckles. I have never had turnbuckles so all rod ends for me are right hand threads, nothing odd about that at all. It is nice the rods have the hex in the middle so they can be held easily.

I got a 2mm tap and put a couple of turns in the rod ends and then they went fine.

You're not the only that has had issues with the ball links. I ended up ordering actual turnbuckles from aligntrexstore.

Also I noticed that following the recommended link lengths given in the manual, you end up with the main blades having zero pitch at mid collective. Makes set up painless. I also managed to get the swash to level through the entire collective stick travel very easily without much adjusment.

I just bought and installed a hobbywing 50 amp v3 esc so I can use the governor as I heard that the stock Align esc governor causes tail wag when governor mode is selected.

I'm going to use the hobbywing phase SEnsor with the stock ESC and use brain gov. This combo works really well. I did the same thing with my oxy3

Yup, nothing wrong with that. It's certainly cheaper than buying a new HW50V3. Only reason I went with the HW was because I didn't have any spare HW RPM sensors, but I did happen to have a spare HW50

Yep. I'm with you on that. The rpm out is pretty handy too, that's what I have on my G380 with the HW 60

I liked the tail options for the LM better myself so I ordered one up today!!! Excited to have a new build coming and it sounds like a pretty decent little heli.

It barely clears the motor. The LP is missing the brace in front of the motor so you have to be creative. Phase sensor runs along the side of the esc

Thank you very much for the info. And where exactly did you solder the 2 sensor wires on the motor side?

Your not using break away arms on your KST servos??? I've snapped a few gearsets so I bought the break away arms and haven't had an issue since.

Right at the motor leads, I removed a little bit of the heat shrink and soldered them then heat shrinker over both.

Seen a set for sale on ebay, I don't know if that helps but it's an option.

$560lm vs $430lp. is the $130 upgrade worth it for intermediate sport flyer who is not doing 3d?
