I originally set mine up with a Vbar, BLS351s and a BLS251 running on 6S with a YEP120lv and a scorp 4025-1100. I found this set-up to be fairly rough on packs because it's a heavy little heli so I upgraded to a yep120hv and a scorp 4035-560 on 12S with 2700mah packs. With this set up the heli was a beast and menace to society. I recently stretched it with a logo 600 boom and some 7.2 parts so it now runs 620/105s and it's awesome. I'm getting 3.30mins of 3D with these small packs so when they eventually die I'll probably go for some 3700s.

Interesting setup. Happen to have the same motor laying around, may not sell it after all.

Cool My new Agile for 30s

My setup:
KDS stock motor 1100kV
HW platinum 120 hv with WR BEC
Align 615 & Futaba 251 with Turnigy 3dh
6S5000 / 40c revo

I have a lengthy query though so please bear with me:

I have installed WR BECs for all my 8 700-sized helicopters since 2008 without any issues. Every unit has been flawless.

Over the weekend, I acquired the KDS Agile 5.5 so I decided on the Hercules Super BEC WRL-HBECCS7 to power the electronics at 6v each. However, as I was changing the dip switches on the BEC, I noticed that the voltage reading would behave erratically and jump from the preset 7.4v to 5v. I have tried it different lipos ranging from 3s-6s lipo all with the same adverse readings. In addition, whenever I touched the dip switches with the pincher, the voltage reading would jump and I also noticed that there was some kind of glitching sound emitting from the unit as if a component/s had been soldered incorrectly. I have tried pitch-pump the servos during setup and there were no brownout issues on the rx.

Despite my suspicion that something is not right, I went ahead to use the WR BEC yesterday and 30s into the maiden flight of my new Agile 5.5, the esc cut off prematurely which resulted in a crash. It was disheartening to see all my efforts in building the heli and setup gone in an instance. And I also lost an expensive lipo in the process. I am NOT insinuating that WR BEC had caused the crash but is it possible that the esc cut-off was caused by the BEC glitch (if any)?

Many thanks in advance for advice rendered. Peace be to all.

Sure sounds like a BEC problem mainly because of the erratic behavior prier to your flight. Even the best will have a rare one that slips through bad. Once you get her in the air again your going to love the way she flies.

hello
The 600 mx on 10s , very very very cool , not what i like ...
but 510 kv is 510 kv , so I decided to stay with my 10s and to increase the kv , so I ordered a X nova 4025-670kv , just to see , with the doubt of the lying time
Tests today , 3 flights...
hacker topfuel 20 c 3000 mA 5s x2 : 4 minutes , but intensiv 2300 rotor speed , and power
With 1800 rotor speed i think 5 minutes is possible
50 gr more with this energy , I really love it
6s or 12s....or anything between
ciao

Hi Larryu, Thank you for the reply. It was the faulty WR BEC which i have changed out to a CC BEC. Flawless for 7 flights thus far and heaps more to follow. I really love this bird!

Okay I thought it was time I posted my set up I don’t think I’ll be changing anytime soon I’m running 6S Turnigy 5000mAh Heavy Duty for about 6+ min flight time coming down with 3.78 volts, I started out with a KDS 1100KV but found a deal I couldn’t pass up on a KDE motor and yes it does have more power with about the same flight time.
KDE 1100KV
Hobbywing Pro 80A
Ikon
KST 725HV cyclic
KST 525HV tail
CC BEC Pro
RJX 550mm main blades and stock tail blades
I have a set of Cyclones but haven’t tried them yet.

Default Agile 5.5 Max Blade size?

Can the stock Agile 5.5 support larger blades than the 550 size? I was hoping to use the SAB 570 blades but worry about a boom or tail strike. I am using 87mm tail blades.

Yes I ran 570 main blades without an issue along with 95 tails.
Good luck. It’s a great heli.
