Raja doesn't design and build helicopters so I dont see what "machines" he has to keep up with this.
An all up weight on this build would be interesting so we can compare it to the KDS conversion, Goblin conversion, TRex conversions, Whiplash, etc. For engines and Blades you can chose what you want on whatever airframe I think??.... Interesting that this one has a 6.5 ratio stock rather than the 6.7, 6.8, 7.1 ratios we have seen in most other conversions and the whip - are you guys targeting it at smaller blades and higher headspeeds?

weight - posted that somewhere, guess not here. As shown 14lb 4oz.
So far I think the Century Radikal holds the low weight title, it could be built at less than 12lbs by careful selection of components. 6.54 is the testing ratio, there may be as many as 4 ratios - TBD

The 766 was designed as a ...... 766. Not sure if comparing it to a 700 makes sense. If you want a 700, buy a 700.
It will be the first gasser that should match up well with a properly modified 320 and 766 or 810 blades. The added weight of the engine and airframe will be offset by the longer blades for the pilot wanting a larger heli that should still have good performance.

Ahh gotcha... The question about weight was just curiosity since you are testing it 300s. Someday I'll need to replace my helix and thinking about possible airframes that can take the same gear, and build light like the Helix conversions and Whiplash (12ish)........ Didn't mean to offend Tom.

To answer your questions Wahoo
Quote:
Carey says its 14lbs 4oz, that's without a generator, lights, battery monitor, etc., even without a switch he just plugs in the battery every time to go fly. Take out all that stuff from my Whiplash and just fly it on the 1900mah Life which you could for about 3 flights, then that machine is going to be 2 lbs lighter if not more. Darby had his Whiplash down to 11.5 lbs or there abouts by using a light fan cover instead of the stock metal one. Quote:
The synergy will be nice I'm sure of that, but its not going to be the best performance machine. Like Tom said, its a 766 its not going to compare in performance to a 700. -=>Raja.

Is it possible and if so what is the best setup/configuration for this conversion to replace a JR GSR 260Z as an 800 size 30 minute machine in the 1400rpm range.

I don't know if it will run 30 minutes, but 766mm blades are roughly equivalent to 800's due to the width off the head
The 766 is very durable and has a better clutch and cooling system than the GSR260

PM me if you're interested
