Default Post your charger case

Seems alot of RC guys are making some really smart looking charger cases with powersupply, chargers and all built in. I found a few on "what are you working on" thread just now. I'm currently trying to figure out how to set up my first case, and I would love some pictures showing how others have built theirs.

SNJBIRD does some very nice work with them

Myself ..I squeezed as much power as possible into a 22 inch case..

On board PS 24V @ 94A for house charging.

12V & 24VDC for car charging on my dual battery system.

There are some really nice custom cases out there, expecially the ones Jay makes. Currently I just use this setup and it suits me fine. I guess you could call my truck bed a case?

Here is mine. Not very good but it works. I would like for it to be a little more compact, and be able to run the PSU underneath the charger but I don't know how to make one like that, or what to use.

You have seen the pictures of mine on the "what are you working on thread... Some of the PS have very powerful fans and need no help with cooling, other are a little weaker on the cooling and I add fans to those. It really depends on how much power you need, and what you want to charge?
Here is my most compact to date...

And the inside...

It's cool because it doubles as a barbeque.

Plexiglaas cuts very smooth on a router table and you can also add intricate details to it.. such as perforations for ventilation, or perfectly rounded corners etc...

I'll have to remember this thread.. I am waiting on some PS's to arrive from Tx USA. Going to build myself a cool multipurpose rig.

Here's mine.

They are Duo3+, so 1200W total out. Supplies are Meanwell 27V supplies we scored for $50ea. Input is about 1300-1400W, about the most I'm comfortable pulling from a wall outlet. I use most of it consistently. I REALLY like the setup... Clean, easy, portable. I only ever charge at the club.

Everything is hard mounted. The supplies have screws through the bottom of the case. The chargers are hard mounted to the plexiglass. All the wires run under the plexiglas. A computer power supply chord plugs into the side of the case and powers everything. The lid closes without removing any wires.

I see some TIG marks... did you do this yourself too? if so what machine do you have?

I have a syncro200. Works really well -most of the time...

I like how you've organized this.. very functional. clean.. logical.

Here's mine: Meanwell 24V 1000W supply with two Hyperion Duo 3s. These are shots with and without the foam padding. I think I'm going to leave it out for better cooling. It's not a huge issue when charging, but it does matter when discharging, i.e. store mode.

I used two inch wide velcro to secure everything but I'm not really thrilled with it. How are you guys mounting things to the case? I could make a plywood base and mount the supply to it, but then the plywood still needs to be attached to the case. Plus the chargers seem difficult to mount other than strapping them down or using velcro. Any ideas?

Daniel

For the Chargers I am using 4" Velco, they don't budge
The PS' are held in place by 1x3 board and trapped between plexi and case bottom.
