i'm setting up mine for 6s i brought the 4025-1100kv the problem is that the motor is 40mm round and there is a 1 mm gap beteween the motor and the servos
the 500kv is best for 12s cheers

I just stuck a 4035-560 on mine last night and hopefully get to fly today. Gov hs at 235, 2400, and 2450. Should be fun. All I had to do was angle my servos and drill the stock mount to accept the motor bolts. Everything else was a nice fit

The HKIII 4035-560 should work great with an internal governor. Also, from the specs it seems more powerful than either the 500 or 530 versions. I had one in my Trex 700, and it worked great.

What esc and headspeed are you going to run? Castle esc's like a little headroom to maintain headspeed in governed mode but if you are running a pitch curve than you could go with a lower kv motor. The higher kv motors will produce more power, but if you are running an 80HV esc, then you won't be able to get to the power the 560 can produce. I'm installing the 530 in mine and will run the CC Ice 80HV in governed mode. The 530 is rated for 80 amps continuous so it matches my esc. There are too many variables for an exact recommendation so you'll need to look at your expected use, headspeed, esc, and batteries and make your decision from there.

Ive been running the 80hv2 on my other heli with the 560 since march with no problems. I'm no 3d master but I fly hard most of the time.

Yup - get the kv you need for the flying you do. My comment about the 80HV and 560 was in response to a previous post that says to consider a higher kv motor to get more power. The 560 is capable of 100 amps continuous so the 120HV would be needed to get to the extra power it can produce. You would also need batteries capable of the extra power as well.

I was wrong on the info I had posted. Was thinking of my friends heli. heres the graph from my flights a couple days ago. The flat ones are my nephew hovering and flying around. The rest are mine. Tick tocks, hurricanes, funnels, some piro stuff, punch outs, rainbows with flips in them, and lots of hard collective stuff and my highest peak was 106.6 amps and 4639 watts at a 2300 hs on a heavier heli than the 600 pro. You should be fine with the 80hv2 unless your Tareq.

The last one cuts off cause I slammed the heli and it unplugged itself from the impact

Yeap 12s. I looked at the kde and scorpion motors. The only difference between direct drop in and not is having to use a couple spacers on the servos and drill the holes out in the motor mount to accept a larger bolt. I was going to get the kde but had an extra scorpion and wasnt aware its pretty much a drop in as well until I just sat it in there to see. Took 5 minutes to put it in.

Nice pix willig. I am putting together my heli with the HKIII 530kv and was wondering about the geometry of the front links - but looking at your CC log, there doesn't appear to be any issues with performance

I've now fitted a 4025-630 to mine , used this in my previous 12s rex's . I used long outputs on the servo arms to straighten the links up again , doesn't bind on the bench and fitted the usual washers to clear the servos off the motor , will fly once my new 6mm shaft arrives
