Lightbulb JR9503 2.4 , battery recommendations

I Just received another JR 9503.

The previous owner has a 11.1v LiPo 2550mAh battery in the radio.

QUESTION: I personally have never run a 11.1v LiPo battery in my transmitters. I was always told to use a NiMH +/- 6.0v battery in the 9503.

Will I hurt the radio running it with this 11.1v LiPo battery? It is a transmitter battery and has the correct connections on it.

Just curious as I don't want to harm the Radio.

Thanks in advance for your help and support,
Dennis

The origonal battery is a 9.6v. I dont know for sure if a 3 cell lipo would hurt it. I wouldnt take the chance

I just received a PM from the previous owner. He states that's the only battery the TX has ever seen, and he hasn't had any issue's at all.

The only pain is not being able to use the wall charger, but it's really not that big of a problem.

I am mostly worried about voltage.

Thanks,
Dennis
