I joined a club because of the new "drone regulations" here in Canada. Some pics of the Chronos at the club:

A botched mini auto (landed hard on the tail) broke tail fin, the tail blades, bent the tail shaft, destroyed one bearing, and caused the tail drive pulley to explode on my Chronos. I have ordered the parts and now the waiting begins.

Sorry to hear the Chronos is down.....I hope you get her back in the air soon.
Glad you found a club to continue flying. I hope it's not too far for you to travel.

Looking forward to more photos!

Thanks Scott. Mishap was mostly due to my inexperience with landing on the canvass covered dirt that serves as a takeoff and landing strip. The underlying dirt was mostly soggy and wet and very soft. I also botched the landing and landed tail down which dug the tail into the canvass/dirt.

Thanks! One part that I did not have on my parts inventory is the belt drive pulley but I already ordered it and am just waiting for delivery. I am hoping to get it before the weekend but if not I still have the 7HVU as backup along with my trusty 550U.

The club field is only 8km away from home but the problem I foresee is that when the weather starts getting better I might not be able to get off as many flights as I wish I could. This club has 150+ members, most of them plankers.

As a result I am also joining another club... This one is a bit farther away (15km) but is exclusively for helis... With members some of whom are here in HF. Hopefully by being a member of two clubs I can still fly as often as before. I am going to miss the convenience of getting to the flying field on my bicycle though.

No problem. I once put a helicopter in similarly because I forgot to take off the little pieces of vinyl that are used to separate blades. I heard it pop and hit throttle hold and landed in deep, obscured tire tracks. Stuff happens. It's just a shame when stuff happens, it costs!

Oh, yeah, i can see how that could happen on that kind of ground.....I thought it was pavement.

That's still not too far, and for a heli only club? That could be awesome! Although I do know what it's like to bang out tons of flights when you have your own space....that's really nice.
I had no Idea there was a heli only club in Toronto. If you don't mind me asking, what's the name of the club?

Toronto RC Heli Club: http://rcheliclub.org/

Their website is currently under construction. A pic I took of GimpyGolden's 7HVU at the site 2 years or so ago:

The double tray idea was one by my friend Dan (I hope I'm correct). He had a 7HV and decided it was the best way to mount his Vbar. I was going to do the same thing, but at the time, I was using an AR7200BX so I didn't need to do it. It's not a part number that I know of but if you search the 7HV/Chronos forum, you may see where I ask Dan for the parts he used. The helicopter in the picture, to my knowledge, is not Dan's.
