In stock configuration...you are correct...

But if you or the OP want to run a different Throttle Curve to select another head speed...simply reprogram the Castle Talon15 to Gov High Mode and the TX will determine the Throttle setting

I definitely would like to run my own curve.

Nor - 0 50 100 100 100
IU 100 100 95 100 100

Is what i'm used to. Maybe not 100 for all helis, but you get the point.
I spool up on the ground in normal and then switch to IU at mid stick for full throttle and 0 pitch. And then I always fly in IU.

According to the info I got. I can't do that with the factory ESC settings.

Thanks jonjet for all the help. It's been interesting getting back into this hobby and learning a lot again. Today i'll be putting my 300CFX back together again and setting it up. Will be the first time setting up a FBL heli.

Esc has soft start. No need to start on normal mode then switch like that.

Concur. Especially with the Dx6i and only having 2 switchable modes. Make both modes idle up modes with normal pitch and throttle curves. A true "N" mode not needed for electrics. You also remove the risk of ever trying to go inverted when you forgot to switch out of N and just watch your heli go straight to the ground. For a while there were threads in the main forum of people with very expensive systems that had described doing just that at least once a week. It is a practice that Blade teaches most people through their programming suggestions and you still may want it if you aren't used to the spool up. Once you are, adjust radio and have to flyable headspeeds that are safe for all flight.

That is correct..... you can select any two of these on your dx6i with no issues.

And you can do three if you want with a mix and two switches. Not worth the effort.

Got it flying today! Just gotta play with the gyro settings a little bit. I was getting some tail wag, and it seemed to be a little unstable. I just hovered it for a little bit, and then flew my 130X.

The 180cfx always has some tail wag. You'll find the close enough sweet spot.

now can I adjust the gyro via the tx or do I need to go into the advanced settings I keep reading about on the heli itself to do so?

also I will need to adjust the D/R and expo cause thing moves pretty quick. I'm used to my 130X which seems rock steady compared to this right now. just gotta play with the settings a little bit.

The adjustment for tail is the gyro setting using the tx.

Tail gains are adjusted using the advanced gain menu...

Sticks to bottom outside corners and hold bind button until the servos twitch telling you the menu is selected...

If you have a G2 Spektrum TX roller right to view the menus and change gain value - cyclic stick left/right selects the gain and up/down sets the value

Bind button until servos twitch to save settings

That's advanced. You need to stick with normal gain menus fist via the gyro setting.

This is why many people get into issues so early on. Don't make it so difficult.

Advanced pids rarely need to be touched. Start with the simple then move on, not vice versa.
