I'm glad they made this. I loved my Msrx's but can't deny the had trouble turning left properly and the Msr was nice but a bit sloppy and fragile. For some beginners the Ncps might be a handful as it's far more agile. This should be nice and tame. A relaxing learner.

Sometimes the issue is the tail rotor warped... try replacing with KBDD (blade nano extreme edition tail rotor) which are more resistant.

I emailed Horizon .. and got this lame reply:

"There is nothing wrong with the MSR-S. What you are experiencing is what the hobby industry calls, "toilet bowl effect". This is a very common natural reaction to a micro helicopter."

Funny -- my Nano CP S doesn't do this.

I think whoever answered, did not understand what you were talking about the new mSR S.... because the TBE is a phenomenon that occurs exclusively on flybarred helis (like old Blade mSR).

In fact most of the time, TBE is due to a not perfect balancing of the flybar.

Not totally true. The nano cpx, cps mcpx all get TBE and they are cp helis. For these models it's usually caused a bent feather spindle. But there can be other causes as well such as faulty dampeners, head, blade grips etc.

Horizon's latest reply to my email to them about my mSR S:

"The Toilet bowl effect as it's called, is more prevalent on fixed pitch helis. The original MSR, Blade 120sr, MSR-X and now the MSR-S all exhibit what is called as the "toilet bowl effect".
The best way to minimize the effect is to adjust the tightness of the main blades. There is no guarantee to make it go away completely. Also the effect is noticed more so when the helicopter is just being hovered in one spot and flown around."

At this point, try also to check the Main Rotor Hub...maybe the forks of the linkage are bent.

The blades are definitely free.

Still does the toilet bowl thing. I'm going to pull the head assembly off and see if there is anything binding.

I may also replace the stock plastic head with the aluminum Microheli main rotor hub. I can't fly this thing when it is trying to do the toilet bowl maneuver the whole time.

I was wondering if you were able to eliminate the toilet bowl effect? I recently purchased the same heli, I am experiencing the same problems.

I think that the "toilet bowl effect" is a natural flight tendency of the helis mentioned here. They are not made for extended precision hovering and once we learn the individual aircraft flight characteristics we can minimize this.

Of course this is just my opinion formed over the years of flying!

Nope. Never could get rid of it. I took the rotor and linkages apart looking for anything that might have been binding, but found nothing.

I just fly my Nano CP-S now and the mSR S stays in the box.

It's too bad.
