Finally had the maiden flight! Ran 3 short packs with quite a bit of wind, so I couldn't properly get the feel for her, but so far:

Very floaty and light feel in the air!

Crisp, direct cyclic response!

Lovely sound, similar to a Goblin drivetrain but without the tail being amplified by the boom--pure smooth machinery!

Relatively smooth build process (only 1 or 2 minor hiccups, but what model doesn't?). Great build guide by Scott--thank you!!

My setup:
Stock Rage motor (although I just ordered a 4025 Xnova...bwaa ha haa)
KST DS589MG Cyclic, KST DS565X Tail
Hobbywing 100a V3 (will go to 120a V4 w/ Xnova)
Jeti MUI 150 (to be added this weekend)
Spirit FBL
Jeti REX3 Receiver
Pulse 3000 45c batteries (feel good for light setup)--- Most likely will end up with 4500 packs. I think a Pulse 5500 45c may fit...

Need to get head speeds dialed in but feels great so far, just a few more shake down / tune flights and this bird will be rockin'!

Now if the wind will stop blowing 20mph...

Nice build! Thank you for the compliment. Great shots!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I do wonder about the receiver placement. I might put it on its side on the outside of the monocoque if you can still fit the canopy. Being on the boom seems a bit risky in the event of a crash. You may also have enough room on the inside of the monocoque across from the tail servo--this all depends on how the antenna has to be arranged, though.

Hi Scott

Thanks! I will definitely reconsider the receiver placement. I was excited to get it in the air and tacked it to the boom. I plan on placing it inside the monocoque near the tail servo, just where you recommend!

Also, thanks for taking the time to document your build so well, following it made everything a joy to assemble!

Wow! Thank you, again!

I think I speak for everyone on the team saying that we just want you beat hell out of that helicopter and enjoy it! If there's anything we can do to help, let us know!

Have fun!
