Got out of work and went home and unboxed my new K110. Immediately put in a battery and took off. It needed quite a bit of forward and right trim even in 6G mode. Landed and performed both calibrations. Took off again and she's perfect . This one actually does have a very stable hands off hover in stability (6G) mode. Got 6 batteries to run through .. BRB Maybe

Went outside for two flights. Actually did some inverted hovering and super sloppy tic tocs<sp?>. It's going to be too hot the rest of the week for more than a quickie on any of my helis.

Flying this thing daily on my way to work. It really is THE perfect trainer!

Setting the pitch correct really makes a difference (see the tips & tricks tread) - this way you have enough lift but it never blows out!

Still enjoying this thing daily!

The front canopy pin mod seems to work as it should. I've now worn out one carbon rod and make a new one.

I smoked my ESC yesterday, the motor was just stuttering and couldn't get up to speed. So I'm very happy I bought a BNF as a complete spare heli

The Hisky HCP80 main gear is great, I really like that a lot better than the stock gear!

Is it a better fit...and the color is black right? (main gear) I've seen some white one's.

Yes it's black, and it fits perfectly!

Many of the stock ones won't protrude fully - which leaves you with slop in the main shaft up/down = messed up collective. I've had to cut of some of the top in order to make them fully enter. And they do crack quite easily. It's too early for me to tell how long lasting the HCP80 gears are.

A funeral procession for mine. It has been flown hard since I got it in early June.

Talk about a great little heli though, the progression I have made with it is beyond anything I have flown to date. In the thick of it I was adding 2 new moves a week.

It's time to order up another one, I'm still deciding between the 110 again or a 120. The extra power of the 120 is very enticing but the durability of the 110 is incredible.

I could probably fix it up and keep going with it as it only needs a tail tail motor to fly but it's pretty haggard and tired so a new one is the best bet.

I've been trying to convince myself I need bigger helis but I'm a micro fan at heart and the 110 is the best micro I've flown. You just can't beat no stress flying you can take anywhere.

The 120 isn't very crash tolerant. Several of us have a had problems with both boards. The ESC tends to burn up in a gentle crash (mine did too). The servos also aren't very robust. I'd stick with the 110 and wait to see how the reviews come in on the new T-rex 150.

Yeah, I am thinking of sticking to the 110 it is a great little heli.

I am hoping the t150 is a nice heli as well, I don't think it will be very crash friendly though. It doesn't really matter though to me in the end though as long as it flies good and is easily repaired that's the real important thing for me. If I thumb it in for a dirt nap that's on me and I can live with it. In flight failure is what really gets me upset quick.

I have to say though with the 110 in all the crashes it's had they were 100% on me and that's a great felling with a micro. I only wish the 110 had a little bit more power, but it's not underpowered enough to complain about.

Have you fine tuned the pitch curve? (makes a BIG difference)

How about the HCP100S on 300 mAh 2S batteries? Still quite solid and ballistic power...

Default Bit of HCP100S input

Off-topic yes, but I know a lot of guys keep comparing this to the XK110...

The Assault100 canopy makes it look a lot better:

I now tried the lighter 300 mAh batteries in stead of the stock 450 mAh ones...

More pop with these lighter batteries, but I do think it ended up being even harder to fly. It's too much on the wild side and hard to control.

But fun of course! OTOH the XK K110 is for me a much much better trainer thanks to it's stability and more adequate power.

Default First flight.....

Today was my maiden flight of my new XK K110 and in one word "WOwwwww" and I tell ya, this little bird is sweet. My first CP so I took it easy at on 6g and low rates. I flew 5 packs of in-tail hovers, slow figure 8's. Man, loads of power. I really like this one. Thank you guys for all your input and tips.
