Cool, can't wait to see what they look like.

Myself, I'm pretty happy with the stock out-of-box canopy. This and the orange 130X canopy are I think are probably the best canopies from Blade.

What I'd really like to see is a nice fenestrated superlight tail fin.... Will beat having to use a zip tie ; ) Varc, I like your tail stand rod idea btw, very nice

Thanks, but it didn't last very long. It broke last week when I crashed it at the soccer field.

Same kind of feeling here.

About a minute into the second battery i hit the net on the indoor tennis court while flying inverted. Smashed tailboom, canopy in splinters (they're really thin!) and some more bits and bobs. The carnage I put back into the box doesn't really resemble a heli anymore.

Spares are on their way.. Just had to get rid o the "new" stigma and break her in...

Just ordered these two canopies from Mike. Mini-Proto canopies for brushless MCPX. They may look the same, but one has white X and brushless text, and has a white chin. The other is all black/yellow. These will look awesome with the yellow blades.
I think these are best canopies for the bigger BL chopper.

+1; I'd like to purchase one... perhaps in a different paint scheme though

Mike charged me $30 for the last one, $50 for these two. He can be contacted here:

Do these fit on the BL MCPX WITHOUT any modding? If not what did you have to do? I spoke with Mike and he said it does not work without mods

Yea, that's what I've heard. But mine fitted perfectly without any trimming.

Flew today in light breeze, with reconstituted skid wired to tail boom for failsafe as experiment. I was having great fun trying to fly tight normal circuits when I got too high, too far, struggled to bring it back, it came back fast and overhead, I braked and hit pitch for altitude and think time, but it was too late. We flew into a tree top at 50 feet, where I hit TH and watched my baby fall, sevos screaming, through the tree, to the ground where I spent 5 minutes trying to locate it with a silly look on my face. Thinking I'm 300 bucks in the hole. I found the bird. we lost a tail fin. a canopy post was loose. Otherwise, No damage! Still flying, and the wired battery/skid ass'y, now truly broken, was still in one piece, supplying power, and not separated from the bird. Lessons: CF frame good. If condx are windy, I need more flying room.

I think I just want to keep this one stock with Blades own optional parts.
I also have seen this Goblin Canopy and was not too impressed. I do however like the Protos look alike canopies that you ordered. Those really look good.

I am still fiddling with the stock configuration and like the way it flies now but I want a different canopy with some of the new modified parts that I will be installing very soon. I will have to look into those canopies. Thanks for posting those photos of them.

Well, I got my first outdoor flight for 2013 completed yesterday, and my BL's first real outdoor jaunt. I had flown my BL indoors for the last little while so I was not to hesitant to crack open the throttle and let it loose.

And WOW, what a ride. Flew several batteries no problems. Even started to loop and roll. It was on my last big sky loop, coming over the top of the arc when I lost my energy and she started to flatten out. I fed in negative pitch at this point, hoping to stall out my eventual fall to gravity, but no dice. I corrected the pitch again and kept pulling back on my elevator, hoping to recover from my dive. Nope.

It hit the grass and skided and bounced and I'm sure some crash sound effects also. Broke my skids and trashed my tail boom (and later all the wiring for the tail motor too!). It was good fun and I can't wait to get her back in the air. What a machine!

Those look nice Varc! I finally received my Nano-Tech batteries for the BL and tested them out. Seem to work very well for an inexpensive battery alternative to the eflite batteries.

I decided to wreck it...

I was doing well when I landed on a tree branch for practice and trying to keep in one spot in wind gusts, it was my wife's black plant hanger that caused it to buy the farm in FFF! Good thing I was planning on replacing the tail boom anyway.

Only that wag in some funnel orientations keep it from being perfect. It surely rocks

Ouch! I trashed my canopy and tail last week too. Luckily, your wife was ultimately responsible so you can get the new parts immediately.
