Knight held up pretty good. it's a strong helicopter. This was it's third serious crash.
So 2 mechanical failure crashes and one dumb thumb. On this one the RX just completely gave up the ghost. Still not sure why it died. RX is still DOA.

Default 6hv Down

This is the second crash with the 6hv but the first time I thought to take pics. Been using the Align 3g with compass FBL head and when it is going good it is going GOOD, I really love it. But both crashes have been total loss of control and by a process of elimination it seems it must be due to the 3g. First the tails goes and then the whole heli starts to wobble. This time I was inverted and landed that way

Haven't seen that before (I have seen Kevin do some interesting things) a blade wrap around the head block

A darn shame to see that go in like it did. Hope you get it going as well as before.

It was awesome to finally meet you! That 6HV was humming so good, I was amazed how well you were flying it ....... Dammmmm ...... you are a very skilled pilot in a short amount of time! ........ replace the unit, get it back in the air ....... send us some video clips of the 6HV FBL

This unfortunate crash and Li-po explosion was not mine but thought I would share none the less. Went in hard nose first which cause three cells to burst, two of the cells completely separating from the pack.

Hi geomecc,

the only thing is, Compass heli's don't need no upgrades

Grtz,
Dirk

I was about to say that, but didn't want to clog up the thread! I'm glad it was brought up though. He's right, there's not much you can do to the Compass helis because they just fly awesome right out of the box. A true testament to good engineering principles.

Yes, but I think it's about time for me to go FBL! I like the new Compass FBL head design and the Microbeast looks good as well. I hate to be like every one else and use V-bar or Skookum or 3G, so we'll see what the Beast has to offer. From what I'm hearing it will be good for me to cut my teeth on, so when the parts are in stock I'm in.

Cool, I've checked around but no one in the states has it but Heliflight center and there out of stock. Where did you get yours?

HOLY CRAP!!!!!! Ouch man, I feel for ya! Great pics, but soooooo painful to see at the same time! That's like watching a groin-shot.

BBRFST: I just got done installing the Microbeast on my 6HV. It's freakin AWESOME!!!! I'll have it at the HF Fun-fly in October if you are going to make it to the event (You'd damn well better be there!). It would be nice to hang out with you again, let you see the new monster!
