Default Logo 500 16 tooth on jive 100lv?

Currently using a 15 tooth with jive 100lv. Can the jive 100lv handle the amperage of 16 tooth with 12/13 degrees of pitch, 5000 45c 6s batts? Im maxed out at 15 tooth with 65 flat throttle in my TRANSMITTER per recommendations on the jive. Want to see how much more power on 16 tooth. My motor is scorpion 4025-1100.

What are the pros and cons of 15 vs 16? I read that the 15 has more torque? But can the jive handle 16? ESC shut downs is what im concerned about since im not so great on autos yet.
Thanks.

I have the same motor and ESC. 553 mains and 570 mains.

I run the Mod .7 15T but I've tried the Mod .7 16t. (on a GensAce 4800mah 65c pack in excellent shape)

I wanted a little more headspeed but 16t made the pack warmer, esc warmer, and no more power in my opinion, in fact it felt easier to bog. . The flight time was a little less too

I found that running a little higher throttle curve w/ the 15T gave me the power I was looking for. 70-73% in the TX. I know that's higher than recommended with a Jive, but it flies how I wanted it to and that's all that matters IMO.

I think you should give a 16T a try though, especially if you run 553mm or less mains. You're opinion my differ. I never experienced any level of heat that would worry me.

I think this is where logging would help with jive without spending tons of $$ for it but its good to hear that there is no significant over amp concerns with 16t. Thanks for the feedback and i got the 16t on order. I'll play around with the flat throttle curve on jive.

I read lots of people going past the 65% in transmtter with no ill effects. In fact before the thread came out on that, i believe people were setting 80% in their transmitter!!! i might try going up a bit, maybe 67% on 15t. or go back down to 60% with the 16t. Hmmmm.....decisions decisions.

Glad to hear that you're going to try it. It's worth it because others like the combination and it does work. It's going to be a personal preference, not a black or white, good or bad.

If you are flying 550 or 560 blades with the setup you've listed, I think you will find 15t to be the best pinion. 80% throttle is not too high and will put you around 2300HS.
