Default Double Sided Tape?

I have been reading that Scotch 4011 is the preferred tape - it can be removed. I was wondering if there is a reason not to use industrial Velcro? It would provided a bit of vibration isolation and you could remove the device for what ever reason. Just wondering.

I think the unit itself would be able to move too much if velcro'd down. The roll of 4011 is big enough that should you need to remove it (why you would need it to come off that often anyway?) you'll have plenty of tape to reattach it.

Default Double Sided Tape?

Would velcro and a ziptie hold a gyro unit in place...?

If so you'd want to put the ziptie through fuel tubing to keep from transmitting vibes. Really though, just use 4011. It comes in like 10' rolls and comes off clean without too much effort. No reason to reinvent the wheel, not to mention that a lot of issues people have had with getting the BeastX flying right have been solved just by switching from the stock mounting tape to the 3M stuff so why not just stick with what's known to work best?

Ok, ok, I got the point. I'm new to this and was just thinking. Guess I won't do that anymore My 4011 is due today. None of my local big box store and Wal Mart had the stuff. Wife ordered it over the net!

I found some stuff that was 411 and 411d are they maybe changing the numbers around on the stuff. It's black with red backing.

The 411d has 10lb holding I think.

I think the black w/ red backing is heavier duty than the 4011 (I ly based on seeing black stuff at target recently and it had a higher weight, maybe 20lb but I didn't look at the product number). The 4011 is gray w/ red backing. Available at most any hardware store, Walmart and Target. Probably available other places but I've seen it at these stores.

I went out and looked them up. The two products are different. 4011 is stronger than 411. I believe I will stick with 4011.

I'm not normally one to deter someone from experimenting but when it comes to the device that allows your heli to fly why risk it? Especially with a $1,000 heli, just stick with what works. I have yet to need to remove any of my 7200's for the last year so I don't see where making it easier to remove is necessary, especially at the risk of performance or just plain flyability possibly.

If I could find the 4011 I would buy it. I think I have 3 rolls of similar stuff at this point.

I have never had any trouble out of the stock AR7200BX tape. If you are having vibes so bad its messing with the FBLs unit then I would check the setup of the heli you have it on unless its nitro.

I bought mine at the local ACE hardware. I found it in the section where they sell the outdoor house numbers. It is advertised for external uses--like attaching doodads to siding.

I have been reading that Scotch 4011 is the preferred tape, too.
But i can't find a german equivalent.
Here in germany is the 3M Scotch 4011 not buyable.

May someone give me a tip for a good alternative?
