Hirobo MH-10 What's it worth?
I have a Hirobo MH-10 from my father's estate. I'd like to find out what it's worth. I have one complete w/ OS.15CZ engine, (No electronics) Plus another that was crashed, also whith a OS.15CZ engine. I also have a bunch of other old Heli stuff that I haven't gone through yet and more spare parts may be there. These both have the pod and boom bodies. I found three canopies- 2new and 1 used. More info to follow. I need to assign a value to this stuff for the estate.
Thanks for the help. Last edited by Baron243; 11-02-2011 at 09:43 PM.. Reason: error in engine size |

Since no one else has responded, I will give you my view.
Unfortunately, not likely very much. Being a model introduced in 1990 it really is not a vintage model IMO. The model is underpowered with many complex and unusual pieces, so not helpful for someone wanting a "cheap" heli to learn with nor will it be fun to just fly around. It really only has any value to someone who wants to add this to a Hirobo collection or has some particular fond memory they would like to cherish. And I can't say that I have ever seen a "Wanted - Hirobo MH-10 heli..." post (not to say there isn't one). Having said that, if you want to sell it, post it in the For Sale section. OR, if it brings back fond memories of your Dad, polish it as a mantel model to commemorate your father's hobbies and life. If he had a collection of RC helicopters, it is likely one of the smaller ones! All the best. |

Hirobo MH-10
Will agree with TutelarRC on the popularity of the MH-10 and its general appeal. I have two as part of the VRHC collection and I know of only one other with one. Even though I have loads of spare parts nobody has asked for any. Your MH-10 would only sell if fully functional because some spare parts are not available and as noted the design is overly and unnecessarily complicated. Joe PS I will though disagree with the vintage reference as the MH-10 does does under the mantle of 'vintage'. The term 'vintage' only refers to a specific date (originaly when grapes were picked for making wine) and does not refer to an actual length of passage of time i.e. how old something is in years. However it has come to mean that and generally the accepted reference is as below .i.e. over twenty years old...... Quote In the early history up to this date, the term “vintage” was initially used to denote the time of harvesting grapes or wine for one season. It is from the Latin words ‘vinum demere’, meaning, “to take off wine.” Today, vintage definition has evolved into the process of collecting grapes for the sole purpose of making wines. If you look into a wine’s bottle, you will see a date or a year on its label. This is the time the grapes were made into wine, thus the meaning of vintage is defined. In our day, vintage is used to describe almost anything that is already considered as behind the times. One example of a vintage definition refers to a particular span of time. Vintage can be a term to define clothing, cars, furniture, books, musical instruments, paper, computers and other collectibles that signify the quality of being old-fashioned. It is defined as something that is older than a 20 year-old man. Since vintage is characterized as being old, this does not mean that an object that is measured to be “vintage” is already unattractive. In fact, top runway models, and elite groups of individuals would go for vintage styles. Unquote Personally I like the "elite group" reference myself............... |

Thanks for you input fellows, but I still need to assign a value to this for the estate and then it will probably be listed for sale. Again, I have one complete MH-10 with engine and a second that appears to be all there except for the side frames, also with engine. Neither one has servos, reciever, or gyro. Geuss $$ anyone?
Thanks. |

I sold one witha BK117 body built, but never flown, for about $200 on ebay a few years ago.
While the design is not the best from a functional perspective, to me it is clever and unusual. That, combined with the helicopter's unusual size (for a nitro), rarity, and country of origin makes it collectable to the right buyer in my opinion. If you are willing to wait, post an ad here and on rr - I still get responses years later to ads posted for antique helis I have sold. Good luck! |

Hirobo MH-10
Hi - I've just picked up abrand new airframe from EBay UK for just over £50 or say US$100 - so that may help you answer the value question?
I'm interested in the crashed heli for spares fo this one I've just bought. Especially if the rotor head is not damaged - I need a mixer lever which seem to be in short supply (Hirobo part No 0408-002) I have a good friend in Yardley, Pa (if that is close by??) who could possibly collect the parts. Many thanks John B |

My very first helicopter was a Hirobo MH 10!
I learned to hover with it. Then it were worn out, totally. It served it purpose well. RIP. |

Hi - further to my separate post, it looks like I've now sourced a complete rotor head
I don't suppose anyone who's watching this thread has a full manual I could copy or they could scan for me? I have the parts list and basic manual from Joe's Vintage Heli site. Many thanks - I'm not trying to hijack this thread BTW. |

You do realize that this is a four year old post from contributors that may no longer be active?
May not get a response. HW.
