Default Best wire to use for tail motor?

Hi folks,
I replaced the tail boom for a solid and slightly longer CF rod. I had to re-wire the tail motor. Now my heli flies for almost 5 mins (where is could do 6 before LVC) and it seems like it generally has slightly less get up and go about it and the tail seems a bit sluggish. I think there is more resistance in the tail motor wires and this is draining more current and dropping the voltages a bit.

My batteries could be going down hill too as they are well used and getting near to a year old.....But

The wire I used is multistranded steel wire from a PC PSU(quite thin). I have measured the resistance of the wire against a piece of CAT 5 data cable (solid copper) of the same length and it is slightly highher.

What is THE BEST type of wire to use to hook up the tail motor with?

Thanks

Solid core Cat5. Also I suspect your batteries are starting to fail!

Default Hello

I strip an old computer monitor or game controller cable and use inner wires.
I use the stock green and replace the red with the monitor cable wire.
Works well.

I bought new batteries and everything seems to be much better. I haven't flown it outside so far but hovering inside, the heli is much zippier and the tail holds well now.

My eflite batteries can almost manage 4mins 30secs and my slightly newer and larger Hyperions can do almost 5 mins.

I still might re-wire it though as I have some very fine solid copper core wire (Bell wire from Maplins)

Thanks for the inputs anyway.
