I am New to MD heli

I just bought a md 600 on hear and was just wondering if this brand is still going strong or if they are least poplar brands not many videos or not a lot of talk about these any more

Hi. My own view of why this helicopter is not at the top of the chat list is that newer helicopters, like the Goblin, are what are making the most noise on the forums. Helicopters that don't need much of any fixes or major refits tend to quietly get on with the business of flying. I own a three or four year old MD7 and it is setup not as a 3D monster but as a scale helicopter flight trainer. It has worked flawlessly since the day I got it and the two incidents I have had with it were mostly the result of pilot error. Even then, the cost of rebuilding was not bad considering that the most expensive parts replaced were the blades.

I find the service top grade and the overall quality on par with the best out there. The designers got this one right the first time and with some minor improvements, it has become a very solid helicopter. Even with the changeover from V1 to V2, there are still many of the V1 parts available. I added some of the improvements like the quick change battery tray and three blade tail (needed for low head speed flying) to enhance the overall performance and make battery changes a snap. If I re-kitted this helicopter, I would replace it or repair it, as it is one of my favourite flyers. Take care.

I own two Aligns, two Logo's, two Minicopters, and have built lots more big Blade, Align, and many smaller helicopters and this is one solidly engineered helicopter. It is larger than your average helicopter and in my opinion, as well manufactured as the Minicopters and Logos. You will not be disappointed in the quality of it. Like any other helicopter out there, change the blades, motor, or ESC and you can have either a slow underwhelming pig, or a quick, explosive wildcat. Take care.

You won't be sorry, these are rock solid helis not much to say about them that hasn't already been posted.

What's the difference between MD700 V1 and 2.

I just picked one up off the forums. Was there a revision to the autorotation gear and hub? I have a small hub and a large round hub. In the manual it looks like the bottom of the gear has ribs for strength and the one I have is hollow and it looks like the larger hub fits in there for strength.

I can't tell you what all the changes are but one thing that did change was the lower frame panels to allow better access to the batteries. There are changes to the gear hubs but those parts seem to be still available unlike some other brands as their lines age. There may be a time in the future when switching to the new hub will make economic sense but as long as V1 parts are still made and stocked, keep on truckin', as it is a very strong design.

I don,t think i will be keeping this its bigger than i like i am more in to the 500 stretched size but still smaller than a 600

i did hover it and i have to say it is really nice bird but need to find a bigger pinion for my Hyperion HS4025 740 kv motor

Would this helicopter do good on a 3300 6s or should I just find new 5000 I want long as I can get flying time but want to lighten it up also it's tail heavy helicopter
