Nice mod. As a matter of fact your old x3 has the exact same mod and is doing very well.

I regretted selling that one, lol. Traded my first X3 for a Chase 360 and regretted it. Sold another to get another 450 which I regretted. My current x3l is never leaving...

Is this the GM-504? one of these motors shipped out with my X5 kit (along with some 450 blades...) I was wondering if I should sell it, or keep it because I think I want a 3 blade X3L soon...

No, is the GM 505, 1400kv...
I used to run the Align 1800 but switched to it a year ago and never looked back. Beefy motor, powerful and runs cool..

504: slightly heavy- 80A current vs 52A
The 505 has an integrated fan, runs more couler IMO.

Powerwise u can t go wrong with any of the 2.
The 504 is on sale at the moment on Gaui website, save 30 buks.

I`m still waiting on my belts to arrive for my 420 stretch but I have been flying my X3L with 385 halo blades. I`m actually starting to like flying the X3 now. The Scorpion HK3226-1600kv motor is a blast in it. I had to change back to the stock Gaui main gear because I was stripping the Lynx main gear I had in it. I made three flights today on it and no signs of main gear wear. I also went from the 13T to a 12T pinion. It just did not need the head speed it had with 13T pinion. The only problem is finding a 12T pinion that fits a 5mm shaft. I bought the last two 12T that I know of.

When the tail belt arrive for 420 stretch I will swap out pinion from 13T to 12T and change back to stock main gear on it also.

Gaui used to sell both 12T & 13T that will fit 5mm shaft. When I look at GAUI site it shows the 12T is not sold any more.

HAWK-RC does list both 12T & 13T pinions on their site.

I`m still waiting on tail belts but decided to fly the X3L 420. It has a few minor issues but think I can work through them.

I had a Lynx main gear in it like the other X3L and it stripped today. I swapped back to the stock Gaui main gear tonight.

The tail is not holding. It does not sound like the 3mm wide tail belt is slipping. I am being easy on it because of the 3mm wide tail belt also. It is ok till you get on it some and then will break loose a little. I had Halo 62mm tail blades on it today. I install a set of Zeal 68mm tonight. I have the Lynx 15T tail gear in it now but may try the 14T tail gear.

I`m hoping to get out on Sunday for some more testing. I`m able to fit the Pulse 2200 mah 6S battery under the canopy. It is tight but does fit.

thank's, but I think it's not enough to get 3000 and 3100 RPM..I think I need 14T or 15T with the 1400 KV.

Well I finally have a wider belt on the tail of my X3L 420. Since I`m still waiting on my first order of tail belts, I placed an order for 8mm wide belts and I cut down to 4mm wide. It is a terrible weekend due to be so cold and windy so flying will have to wait.

I made a little guide to lay down on belt and then cut with my scalpel along the guide down center of belt.
