Default My R5 is finally flying

I was finally able to get my R5 completed and several flights in today without issue.

It was actually maidened at my club a couple weeks ago, however despite taking every precaution and tips from here, it still managed to eat the top of the canopy on its second flight. This was after using the custom bolts and nuts that don't protrude down. It even flexed the sides of the canopy into the blade grip links

I was able to cut the top of the damaged canopy area off and opened up everything so contact cannot be made anymore, so all is well now. I have to say this model has been a love/hate relationship so far with more build quality issues and poor design problems that needed to be dealt with than any other model I have ever built, however it is really fast and fun now that it's finally flying.

My Hacker HV micro retract servo seems to be working perfectly as well, although it did require some modification to get it installed with enough clearance from the pack. One of the most worrisome things for me was the stability of the model during takeoff and landings, but I have to say I'm relieved that this has not been an issue for me at all so far, even on ground that is not really ideal such as the rogue field in this video.
