Default Multiblade phasing question

OK, I hope I can explain this correctly:

I'm building a 500-size Apache AH-64 with an Align 4 blade rotor head and a Robird G31 fbl controller. The Robird offers a variety of setups for multi blade rotor head phasing. The question is which phasing setting do I select for the Align head?

The links from the swash to the blade grips aren't 90 degrees to the blade grip, they are more like 45 degrees. Do I select the 45 degree setting?

I've seen some posts along the way that say its not necessary to select a phasing setting in the fbl controller because most new multiblade assemblies are already set. If thats the case with the Align should I just go with a standard 2 blade phase setting?

I am not familiar with the Robird gyros but the Align head is a Plug n Play type that needs no phasing done in the transmitter or gyro. The head uses two arms that are locked in phase by the base of the hub. You can use 120 degree swash setup as you would for a normal flybar type head. You will need to check your manual for where to set the 120 degree swash but most likely you will set the transmitter to 90 degree single servo and then set 120 degree swash in the gyro. No other adjustment should be needed from there. Good luck with the build.

Don

PS: I am moving this to the section dedicated to rotor head questions.

Don is correct, set the transmitter to 90 degree single servo and then set 120 degree swash in the gyro if that's what your mechanics are.
I have the same Align 4 blade head with a Robird G31, flies great.

I think I understand now; it's the swash followers that "lock" in the phasing and not the swash plate to blade grip links.

I got a little confused by the diagrams in the Robird setup software showing the blade grip swash links.

I'll set the fbl controller to the 120 degree setting as you have stated.

Thanks!

Along with that, you can check the setup by positioning one blade in line with the boom. Give forward elevator and the blade should (must) remain stationary.

Well, I am getting closer to a maiden of the mechanicals. The Robird is mostly programmed and I hope to complete that this weekend. The rest of the mechanicals are mounted and secured. I've added some tail boom.braces to help steady the back end.

I'm a little nervous about the 4 blade rotor head and 4 blade tail rotor as I have never flown this setup. It will be interesting though. The
