You might be able to move the grommets on a lynx canopy for a better fit and nice look!

GUILTY! I'm really interested in the belted tail.....not sure what or If I'm going to build yet, but looks cool(minus the canopy)! I was also thinking 4S, that way I could use my old 130x batteries (in series)... . Not sure what I'll be using as a motor (researched needed), the smaller 130x motors do not bolt up unfortunately.

I will be very interested to see how yours performs as I feel the belt skips on the front pulley a bit easy when you try to turn the head separate from the tail.

My main concern with potentially using this bird as the base for a build is the availability of parts(I crash!)....I haven't searched around a whole lot but I assume replacement parts may be hard to find (gears/shafts/etc).

That thing looks sweet! You have to post a video when it's done. I would love to see that in action....

There's no harm in trying/asking. Request sent

Right! Take the same amount of time to drop an email as to posting here that it's a waste of time

OK, so the present X2 is a continuation of the Hurricane 200? They upgraded it and put on bigger blades?

I think its the hurri 255, the 200 was smaller than the current x2 and that was also dropped.....the x2 was just an upgrade to fbl and a few other things but essentially its a hurricane 255 v2 in a sense

OK, thx for the info!

I've only flown mine 100% flat out in IU. Has anyone tried to fly it with low HS - does that make it easier to fly it in a more confined space?

(sorry to OT a bit while we wait on further X1 progress)

And so this 100 / X1 has tail belt drive! I initially asked in the 130X forum why they didn't do this... and was told it was "impossible" Must admit I prefer belt over TT!

In the past, I contacted Gaui about the X2. Never even heard a peep. No 'hey thanks' email, not even an auto reply email. Black freaking hole. I love Gaui helis. I however, do not like Gaui's business model of how they handle their customers.

I honestly think you'd have better luck asking Empire RC to have them push Gaui for an X1.

the 200 shares the same mechanics mostly, head, tail, all the gearing. 200 just has a smaller frame and boom and ran on 2s with 200mm blades. most of the parts are still interchangeable, so yeah the x2(255) is kind of a continuation or a stretched 200 sort of.

And the 200 was in essence a stretched 100 and shared most of the mechanics.

During the process there were some modernization to the model over the years, frame changes, couple iterations of FBL etc...

I fly low head speed in the cul de sac, using talon 25 gov, don't remember the exact speed but yes low headspeed makes it easier to fly circuits/ funnels/ hurricanes in a tight place. Really this holds true with any heli.
