Default Is The Naza Still Supported?

I am new to this and do scale. I just discovered the NAZA-H and it looks like just what I want. I was told that DJI no longer makes it and it is no longer supported by them. Is this really the case?

I would really like this set up.

There is no reason it won't still fly but with as much fiddling as people have had to do, and then all the wiring that comes with it, I'd skip it.

Get the Ikon, it does self level too and has great support.

The Ikon and the Spirit Pro require a lot of fiddling too and they do not have position hold, which I want.

I owned the Naza and currently own the Ikons, I'd say the Naza requires way more fiddling, but if you need position hold, I think you are stuck with the Naza then, unless you want to fiddle even more with Arducopter.

I had to look that one up. :-)

I do want position hold. I think that will be very helpful flying scale helicopters. Lot of work goes into them and anything to be more crash resistant is a plus for me.

The Naza H is a great controller for scale. And is very easy to setup. I have a lot of money in my scale helis and I want every advantage I can get to keep them save.
DJI doesn't support it anymore but it is still availible in the market for sale. As of this morning you can still get it at Hobbyking.

I will order one from HK. Does the GPS dish have to be mounted in the open or can it be hidden?

It can be hidden away. The fiberglass fuse does not interfere with it's reception. But you need a fuse that allow you the room to mount it and not be close to electronics.. 20cm.. My 700 AS350 has the gps mounted in the fuse tail boom and is also under the mechs tail boom.and will pick up all sats while on the bench in my garage. Most 600 size fuse's the gps will still have to be on the outside.

Thanks, I guess it will be the outside for me, as I'm building a 450 scale UH-1 Huey. Most folks wouldn't even know it shouldn't be there. :-)

Maybe throw a coat of paint on the GPS antenna to sort of make it blend in a little?

That is just what I was thinking. I can mount it over the horizontal stabilizer, which will also help.

I've got to big birds with Naza. I can't see anywhere how it's more trouble than anything else. It's got the same required setup that you have to do for amything else.
