Rigid head for a speed machine?

Been toying with the idea of configuring my Compass eXo as a speed machine and see if I find any interest in this segment of the hobby.

Does the rigid head design of the eXo make it a non-starter as a speed heli? Or is it potentially a benefit to have the rigid head?

I'm not familiar with the eXo design, but I can tell you the generally, the damping stiffness needs to increase with an increase in RPM, which dictates stiffer heads for speed than for 3D. That said, it's also a function of blade design, lead-lag damping (grip tightness among other things), and collective and cyclic pitch values in flight.

I'd say it's worth a try. Just be safe spooling it up to speed-level RPM's and start slow with the tune and how aggressively you fly it.
