Default Service loop - red tape?

Hi, I've seen more than a few builds where some kind of red tape is used on the end of the service loop, going across the connectors entering the rx/fbl unit.

Could someone please tell me the type and brand of this tape. It looks like double or single sided foam but I cannot find any.

Regards.

Any chance you can provide a picture? Not sure what you are referring to.

Usually it is just double sided tape with the backing left on, it helps keep the servo leads from coming out of the fbl in flight. Seems most people that do that are using the 3m tape which has a red backing.

3M VHB The stuff is Great!!! https://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotch-491...cotch+vhb+tape

Originally, a piece came w my Ikon,. and after that, I found it by the roll, now I use it for everything!!!

Use it to keep wiring all nice and neat on the inside of the frame.
Fold it over the frame pieces where wires run. (looks like fuel tubing glued to frame)
Used to mount all electronics.
Many uses around the house, or other projects!

They make it in clear, and grey, that I know of, as well as different widths.

Yes, that's the stuff. Never really felt the need for it in the past as I was mostly flying sub-micros but I recently acquired a 360cfx and its pulling some crazy G's in comparison to my smaller models.

Awesome to fly though, so I intend to do my best to keep it that way.

Thanks for the help, much obliged. Regards.

I've been through 2 rolls the past couple years,. lol. Once you have it,. you'll find so many uses for it!!!

Oh,. and a sidenote about that stuff,.. of course, clean parts to stck w rubbing alchohol first,. but I've found, it almost doesn't seem THAT sticky at first,.. sometimes it wants to peel off, while your trying to get the back off,.. but once the stuff sets up for a bit,.. it holds like krazy glue!!! Trying to take it off can sometimes be bit of work, rubbing and peeling.

I've always used double sided tape for this purpose until I switched to a glue gun. Now going to try VHB for wiring. Great idea!

Just a strip across the leads prevents them from coming out. Doesn't exactly matter what kind, as long as there is some on there. Hot glue also works but is a mess to remove compared to tape.
