Lol, that's a good one. I'll have to go back and check the manual. If you want lower headspeed on 3s, I would go with 13t.

So should I go with the included 14t or is the 13t worth buying it?

Pretty sure that even going with the 14t you can make the flying pretty sedate.

Default Us Ultra Tame Guys

Just for the record you can go with whatever combination of pinion and battery that meets your personal wants/desire/needs. Some folks like myself really enjoy flying a really tame Oxy. I use 3S batteries and a 10T pinion. I run a headspeed somewhere around 26-2700 and am very happy with my wimpy Oxy3. It flies fine for hovering, orientation work, patterns and other tame stuff. And if I ever feel the urge for more I can always change the pinion and/or use a bigger battery.

Thanks a lot. So maybe as a beginner like I am it's not worse with 11t for the first few flights

I'd suggest aiming for 3600-3700 to start with. This is not manically fast nor slow enough to make the heli sluggish. With smaller heli's, HS provides stability. Its about hitting the 'Goldilocks Zone' somewhere in the middle.

For the standard 255 kit on 3s, the optimal range with 14t is 3000 to 4000. With 13t you can drop that by a few hundred RPMs. 11t will mean you are flying 3000 and under.

With both 13t and 14t you can run lower HS than the ideal range above; it will just mean dropping your throttle setting. With 11t, you are up against stability, and really won't be able to fly much below 2500.

As a relatively new pilot, I would not suggest starting any lower than 3000 for your first flights, and certainly no reason to start higher than the 3600 suggested by Minsk. You should be fine anywhere in there, and can adjust to suit your tastes.

If there is one thing that helps in this hobby, it's patience. There is no right speed for building or learning. Whatever works for you is good.

Keep coming back with questions as you have them. Someone will always be here to help.

+1 for patience. If there is any one best piece of advice, it would be to be slow and methodical...basically patient. Read EVERY word of the manual, there are many important things that are easily missed when skipping a few words in the manual.

I'm sorry for the obvious advice, but I'm sure we're all guilty of this.

That's true. As patience is not my strength maybe this hobby gets me trained a being more patient :-)
So right now a have everything ordered except FBL - looking for the brain 2 but at 160€ it's quite pricey. Do I need the brain 2 or would the mini brain be equally good?

Sure, but personally I would want all the features offered in the Brain 2/ Ikon 2.

Is it worth the price? As far as I read - it is only processing power nothing special or am I wrong?

First off, buying a FBL used is always risky. Assuming it was okay, the Brain 2/Ikon 2 will give you vibration analysis and diagnostic logging. May be tools you aren't familiar with now, but as your knowledge of things increases these will be things good to have. I use them on a regular basis.

Risky because it could have been crashed?
So you would recommend buying a new mini brain 2?
