How awesome would a 3d plus ultimate be? Its to bad the 50 size nitro market is dead, I love them. Not to bad on fuel compared to a .91+, and not really that underpowered with some collective management. Their great for keeping that in check and just fly different then electrics. I couldn't get rid of ethier. Mine screamed even with a os50.

Right? I think it really could be done, not like they would have to develop a new model. Allow for the 6HVU boom, tail and FBL head and it is ready for release. I don't even think the canopy needs touched at all. The N5C still seems to be doing okay.

I think I would change a few things on the 3D+. Mainly change up to direct-to-swash control, belt tensioner, 7HV tail assembly (like how Trex does with their models to reduce individual parts for all three sizes of ships) and the new head kind of goes without saying (although I still like the "old" one!)

I definitely wouldn't change the canopy, but something could really be done about the skids, canopy mounts, and attachment of the frame stiffener on the bottom. I would also venture to put the tail servo in the back somewhere, or maybe above the boom like the 7HV, but opposite side of the pipe to at least reduce the oil bath (although most servos seem to be pretty immune to the oil).

Lastly, I think I would modify the plastic nose-piece/battery tray so that it was a little more user friendly and the clutch would go back to the original Knight 3D style. Not sure why that got changed to begin with since the original was absolutely bullet-proof IMO. (Same with the motor mounts).

All that being said, I could totally dig on bringing back the 3D+ as-is. I fly mine on an OS 50 with RJX pipe and it flies every bit as good and strong as my buddy's 3D+ with a YS 56. Just a damn-good flying machine all the way around!
