I wouldn't be able to fly heli's at ALL if I didn't learn so much in these forums!
Does anyone know where I can get this part? See photo...
And thanks again for sharing so much great information!

-Lee

edit...
((looks like it's a Forficiform I found it at BP Hobbies for the Esmart... is there an equivalent? ))

Yeah its on the washout assembly. For around $5-$6 you can replace the whole thing so just go for it

BTW, that's a T-Rex head in the photo, right?

Oh, that's great where can I get one for $6? and would you recommend any substitutions? I'd like to make sure I can get (most) parts in case genuine Esky parts become hard to get.
A member has offered to send me just the piece I need, and when he does, I'll be singing his praises OUT LOUD!
Lastly... you caught me! I was being lazy and pulled the picture from here:
http://myrcguidesforum.forumotion.ne...thread-t34.htm
It was easier to snag it than it was to take the pic upload and crop etc etc...
So, does a T-Rex 600 Head fit the Esmart? That would be GREAT if it did.

Thanks again for your contributions and help.

no, T-Rex 600 uses a 10mm main shaft and the E-Smart uses a 8mm main shaft

Yeah I think a Gaui 550 head fits it, but not a T-Rex 600..

Oh, and isn't the BPHobbies link provided above $5.19 for the washout assembly? It looks like its in stock.

Hi all

Thanks to all who contributed to this forum. Essential to keep these old birds flying.
This is not so much a substitution, as an alternative.
Recently made an enquiry regarding alternative canopies for my Gaui Hurricane. It was suggested a Trex 550 might be suitable.
That was absolutely right, but having got one, I tried it on my Esmart as well, and I think it looks pretty good.

Genuine Trex canopies cost about £60. Did not want to spend that amount for an experiment, so found these

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idCategory=447

The one in the picture is the top one.

Loads of different styles, and for the price, quality is superb.
Worth a look if you want a more modern look for your bird.

Now, got a real head scratcher.
The drive belt I have for mine is marked Unitta - 3GT, 496 J192. I would guess the 3GT refers to the tooth pitch, and the 496 is the total number of teeth.
I need a belt of the same pitch, but about 7" longer overall.
This means about 540 teeth. Anybody know where I can find such an item?

Cheers

The belt from a Century swift will work if you also change out the main gear and tail pulleys and go with a mod .1 pinion to match. Had one set up this way since the e-smart parts were hard to find and century stuff is readily available.

Hi,

If not mistaken main gear is module .8. Anyone tried other main gear such is fusion 50 or trex 500 which has 8mm main shaft?

Thanks in advance

The best gears for Esmart so far are the microheli CNC delrin ones. They are expensive, but you are hardly going to wear out one.
