Default Align t-rex 150 and 150x parts compatibility

I'm starting a thread that lists parts compatibility. Please add to this list if you can. I think at this point, we can only assume that most mechanical parts are compatible. So the list of parts that aren't comp. would probably be shorter. These are parts that I have ordered and replaced on my 150X that only have a 150 DFC listing title. I'm hoping that stores will update soon.

Main blades: have used lynx 125mm and align 120mm without issue

Align swash leveler works

Landing gears

Feathering spindles

Main drive gear still 78 teeth

Main shaft works, although this is a downgrade unless going with carbon shaft, old 150 DFC is aluminum and bends easily. New one is steel, but have yet to see part available.

Tail boom and fin have been reported to be the same

Align has a very handy parts finder to help identify the correct parts for your model. It is pretty good for the most part.

The link is in my signature.

That part finder is quite useful. But those are parts direct from Taiwan. Im trying to come up with a resourceful list so someone can hop on their favorite parts supplier site and nab NOS parts on the cheap, or something like that.

Has anyone tried the Microheli fiberglass canopy and how does it fit compared to the Align fiberglass one?

I seen someone else posting about the 250dfc arm bearings are the same as the 150 dfc blade grip bearings.

The 250 dfc arm bearings are a suitable replacement for the blade grips on 150X.

I have the orange microheli canopy and it fits just like stock, which isn't really a good thing lol because of the battery issue, in fact, it makes it even harder because of how stiff the canopy is compared to the paper thin plastic one. I may modify instead of having to take canopy off, insert battery, reinstall canopy. but it was $20 and its very nice quality, I hate to have to cut it up, or dremel on it..

I did cut the Align fiberglass canopy and the stock one for that matter. Cut the bottom to be able to slide the battery in and out without removing the canopy. But even after I did the trimming, the fiberglass canopy was still too tight width wise to get it on the frame posts very easily.

Yes
I have 4 old 150s and just got a new 150x GRS. FFF of the new 150x GRS is identical to the old 150 part.

Align also improved the GRS gyro mounting tape. Align now use a gel gyro mounting tape which is a big improvement when compared with the old 150 gyro mounting tape.

Correction
On that FFF
Function of the new 150x GRS changed

Align added bail out with a 6 axis gyro added BT added better ESC provided easier setup and made improvements in repairablity .

Yes
I have a few old damaged 150 Fbl controllers.

Old damaged 150 Fbl controllers no one repairs them Super expensive +110$ to replace.

New 68$ 150x Fbl controllers can be repaired by swaping out a top or bottom boards.Expensive (28-46$) but repairable

No
Old 150 lower board and New 150x lower board are not compatible. Due to the FET chg and ESC chg
Again
New 150x Fbl controller can be installed in the old 150

Old 150 board damage
Fets burned or connection circuit board track torn. circuit board trace is a easy fix. Fets burned is not a easy fix.

Old 150 boards no one repairs them and IMO not repairable.Super expensive to replace.
New 150x board repair swap out top or bottom boards.Expensive but repairable

New 150x has a motor that is higher power.
so
Old 150 lower board and new lower board are not compatible
but Again
New 150x Fbl controller will work on a old 150
Thank you Memphis.

Default Does the Align HOT00010 Blade Balancer work with the 150X?

Title says it all … from videos I’ve seen it looks like it relies on a press fit to keep the blades aligned horizontally with each other - I could imagine that that wouldn’t work with the newer 150X blades, due to the metal reinforcement. Anyone tried?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Has anyone reading this thread linked a Trex 150X GRS to a Futaba T6K?

Are you sure the main shaft from the two models are interchangeable? The design and dimensions look different.

I would not think extra 1.5mm in shaft length would make any difference in flight. The upgrade or increase in rotor arm length should make a improvement but again long or short shaft should not affect flight.

New Long Shaft
150 Main Shaft H15H014XX $6.99
Stainless steel Main Shaft 52.6mm

Old Short Shaft
150 Main Shaft H15H012XX $6.99
6061-T6 Aluminum Main Shaft 51.1mm

Upgrade Kit
New Long Shaft + Long Rotor
150 Main Rotor Holder Upgrade Set H15H013XX $17.99
6061-T6 Aluminum Main Shaft 52.6mm

Upgrade Rotor
150 Main Rotor Holder H15H015XX $16.99

and

It looks like if you want to do it right forget the upgrade kit and just spend the extra $6 and go with the 2 Stainless steel Main Shafts and the new rotors. H15H014XX + H15H015XX
