Default Ikon gov with gv1 sensor

Had issues with my gv1 so I disconnected it. Than started to wonder if the sensor would work with the brain. I made a crossover cable to go from the servo style plug to the gov port style plug. Plugged it in and started it up. It showed rpm so I figured I would try a test flight.

It is definitely detecting it and seems to hold its own while flying slow circuits, however if I try a climb out it seems to bog out like it's not getting more throttle, but when it comes down it almost seems like it overspeeds but settles out once at a hover again.

Wondering if there are certain settings in the brain I need to change? Any help would be awesome.

Also, if the gv1 is not an option, what would be a replacement option to work with the brain?

There is a secondary menu in the GV-1 to set the response time. Ask Raja how to program this, I haven't done this in a long time.

You could just use the governor instead of the GV-1...

Default Ikon gov with gv1 sensor

I use magnet pickup (align rpm sensor)
I use the mount fabricated by Carey and his team that mounts inside the Fan case of the motor under the coil. Works very very well with my ikon's internal governor

Default Ikon

Me too.... Same setup as above it was just plug and play for me I have the hall effect sensor pointing to crank shaft and about 1/8 above the magnet I have about two and a half gallons through my Hanson engine running at 2000 head speed on a goblin 630 settings straight out of the box I was only getting a differential of 100 - 150 +/- head speed drop when putting a load on it did some fine-tuning with the PID Loop and dropped it down to 50 I was very worried in the beginning about this set up having issues I really did not want to put magnets in my main gear
