Default high IR on first cell on para charge , replace connectors ?

Hello,

I seem to have the issue in which my IR on my first cell is ALOT ALOT higher then the other IR when I para charge on my MPA board (its 4 or 5 years old ) so it alot of cycles.

i noticed the ir was already creeping up but last field day I saw 24 vs 2 -4 on other cells. I reseated the connectors and it dropped to 12 ish. then it wanted to charge again full bore.

I saw solutions like cleaning the contacts but when I put in new connectors wouldn't the fix be more permanent ?
Also I did already order extension cables to avoid this in the future.
when I see it happening I would just replace the extension cables.

But I still need to get the MPA board ok before the new extension cables make sense, therefore my idea to replace the connectors.

Hi:

1) What charger are you using? If a PowerLab 6,PowerLab 8, or Dual PowerLab 8, do you have the wiring mode set to XH WIRING MODE?

2) How many cells are in each pack, and how many packs are you charging in parallel?

3) If you are charging multiple packs in parallel, what you are reading is the combined IR of all cells in every pack. Have you tried charging each pack separately to see if one or more packs have a high IR on cell 1?

It's a pl8 V2 , wiring hasn't been changed for years, yes XH

6S , 4 in parallell

packs are fine when I solo charge. ( the only moment I solo charge is when I charge for storage.)

Sorry , kinda forgot about this thread when at first no feedback came.

This plagues me as well. Screen shots of IR on 2 large 7S 4400 Revo packs. The 2 were charged in parallel on MPA board with these resulting IR values displayed at the end of the 15A x 2 = 30A charge.

Had this forever, well since 2011.

I know this is an old thread, if this is a known issue is the problem with the mpa board or the charger?

It is typically caused by having the wrong wiring mode selected in the charger. As in the case of the OP, he was parrallel charging four packs which can scew the IR numbers also.
