Default Cold weather setting. GT500

Hi. Does anyone know what is the "cold setting" on a GT500?

Do you use it when you charge in a cold environment OR when you fly in a cold environment?

Thanks

In the pl8 it's automatic when the charger registers a lower temp. So you don't 'choose' to activate it. However you can disable the feature completely or change the activation temp on the pl.

Mine did it in winter when I charged on the 'cold' kitchen floor.

Just putting a piece of carton under it was enough to bypass it. On the field when I was charging in the open I just led it activated to be nice to the packs. And I don't fly much anyway when my fingers are cold.

Yes, the cold weather feature is meant to prevent damage to your batteries when charging in a cold environment. It does this by reducing the charged voltage depending on your settings.

The Cold Weather Temp. determines when the feature activates itself and the Cold Weather Volts lowers the set charged voltage by the amount shown. For example, if you set to charge to 4.2V and the Cold Weather Volts is at 100mV, the charger terminates the charge at 4.1V instead of 4.2V.
